ALEXANDER BLUE HOUSE Present: Diann Dupuis, Mary Cambridge, Laurel Cummings, Lindsey Hakala Other Attendees: Emily Tchorz-Fielder Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:34 p.m. by D. Dupuis I. Review of Correspondence – None II. Review of Minutes a. November Meeting Motion 0301: M. Cambridge made a motion to approve the minutes as submitted, D. Dupuis seconded. It was unanimously approved. III. Treasurer’s Reports a. November 2025 Report i. Income $2,744.00 ii. Expenses $1,485.00 iii. Preservation $3,269.96 b. December 2025 Report i. Income $14,722.52 ii. Expenses $483.10 iii. Preservation $3,269.96 IV. New Business None V. Review of Events a. Adult Craft Night – Nov. 21: Pinecone flower arrangements (sold out) Sold out, went well b. Coffee Culture – Nov. 22 Had 18 attendees, hosting again on 3/29 c. Barnyard Buddies – Dec. 12: Annabelle’s Wish Only had 4 kids (people were disappointed there was no cow) d. Night of Lights – Dec. 13-14, 20-21: Grinch Night, Hometown Heroes, Elsa/Anna w/ ice sculpture, and a magician Got rid of Friday nights, attendance was similar to last time (not a lot of increase?) Discontinuing in the future e. Stories, Snacks & Crafts – Dec. 29: Christmas owl Sold out f. Stitch Sessions – Jan. 3: Knitting, Crochet, New-To-You Workshop Knitting sold out, craft class didn’t run g. History Lecture Series – Jan. 5: Pontiac Transportation Museum Over 40 people h. Milk Mustache Bash – Jan. 10: National Dairy Day Didn’t get enough people to run i. B.Y.O. Craft Night – Jan. 15: Not enough people (canceling program) j. Barnyard Buddies – Jan. 19: Cancelled due to low attendance k. Brushes & Beaks – Jan. 23: Painting + a bird walk Rescheduled to Jan. 30, had 10 people l. History Lecture Series – Feb. 5: Detroit Public Library & Architecture Over 70 people, went really well m. Stitch Sessions – Feb. 7: Crochet Sold out crochet, craft didn’t run n. Volunteer Orientation – Feb. 12 Had 22 people (not everyone turned in paperwork) o. Cultures & Cuisines: Lunar New Year – Feb. 21 New program, October will get a Jewish heritage Speaker did everything for free p. Owl Prowl – Feb. 28 Had a good turnout for age range (got to dissect an owl pellet) q. Stitch Session – March 7 Crochet sold, Knitting had 4 r. Stories Snacks & Crafts: Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss – March 9 Sold out s. History Lecture Series: Detroit Public Library – March 10 Had 66 people, awesome program & speaker VI. Garden Lecture Series – March 30; “The buzz” on pollinators e. Dining With Yesterday: Voyage on the Titanic – April 11; “The unknown child” f. History Lecture Series: History of Troy – April 15 g. Garden Lecture Series – April 20; propagating plants h. Previously Enjoyed Jewelry Sale – April 25 i. History Lecture Series: Preserving Black History in Washtenaw – May 4 j. Mother’s Day Spring Bird Walk – May 10 k. Garden Lecture Series – May 14 VII. Maintenance a. Geer Store exterior painting and wood repair in spring/summer (after roof) b. Church interior painting complete c. Garage roof – winter / spring (“hopefully soon”) d. Alexander Blue House carpet – spring e. Church gutter – done March 10 f. Geer Store roof – spring; going to council & preservation g. Hill House couch reupholstery – done! h. Interior windows cleaned – 3/2-3/3 i. Newburgh School accessible ramp plans, being “reviewed” (again) by preservation VIII. Walk On Items a. None IX. Vision21 Goals: What goal do we focus on first, and how to we accomplish the goal? o Engage visitors in positive learning experiences about Livonia’s history through tours and programming. o Expand outreach to schools, libraries, and non-profits through presentations, publications, or traveling exhibits. o Develop exhibits to reach a broader audience and attract new visitors to Greenmead. o Transfer documentation of artifacts from paper to digital records utilizing Past Perfect and providing online access to our archives. Adjournment: L. Hakala made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:07 p.m. and M. Cambridge seconded it. It was unanimously approved. Next meeting: Wednesday, May 20, 2026, 6:30 p.m. at the Alexander Blue House.
