1) Call to Order
a) Chair Glover called the meeting to order at 7pm.
b) Members Present: Chair Rich Glover, Vice Chair Haitham Fakhouri, Pastor
Yvette Warren, Madison Ling, Ed Buison, Denise Collins-Robison, Charein Faraj-
Hammoud
c) Members Absent: None
2) Approval of agenda & minutes

a) 1 by Vice Chair Haitham, 2 by Denise Collins-Robison. The minutes for the
January 21, 2025 meeting was approved unanimously.
3) Audience Communication
a) None present
4) Chairperson’s Report
a) Executive Orders (tariffs, DEI, etc.) and their impact on businesses and
organizations.
(1) Vice Chair Fakhouri shared businesses that are dependent on word-of-
mouth marketing would need to transition to digital, etc.
(2) Ed shared that businesses need to evolve to develop tech / automation to
increase efficiency and manage their overhead to sustain.
(3) Pastor Yvette shared that religious orgs are cutting back hours and
starting to stock up necessities like canned food, paper products, etc. to
assist with people in need.
(4) Slowdown in financial loans as banks get more cautious due to
uncertainty.

(a) Discussed utilizing potential mediums to represent their stance (art /
music / etc) in the future instead of purely a written essay.

(a) Have something to represent increasing diversity move from libraries,
Rec Center, etc.
(b) Or what we’re proud of in Livonia

(3) History of DEI in Livonia
6) New Business
a) Faith and Blue (Pastor Warren)
i) Sat, Oct. 11
ii) Chief Tom provided a flyer
iii) Livonia community religious leadership to partner with police to bridge
community through prayer
iv) Potentially visit LPD or do ride along
b) Meeting Frequency
i) Pastor Warren discussed increasing meeting frequency siting a lull and trying
to rush decisions and ideas every other month.
(1) Glover discussed potential issues in quorum, budget, etc.

iii) DEI Award Ceremony Report: Changemaker Award (Vice Chair Fakhouri)
(1) Winner: Seedlings
(2) Ed Buison introduced idea of selecting multiple winners to partner with
throughout the year to engage with their efforts to increase visibility for all
organizations involved. Not necessarily monetary based.
c) Pride Support 2025
i) Livonia Democratic Club coordinating with Chair Glover on organizational
contacts/ideas from past events
