HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025-06-09 REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD June 9, 2025 The Regular Meeting of the Water and Sewer Board of the City of Livonia, Michigan, held on Monday, June 9, 2025 was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman Brett Gierak. Approval of Minutes dated May 5, 2025 Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Valerie Jackson #WS 6819/25 RESOLVED, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held May 5, 2025 are hereby approved. AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Jones, Jackson 2. Letter dated June 4, 2025 from the Assistant Director of Public Works, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Susan Clay, 12141 Inkster Motioned by Rich Skaggs, seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6820 06/25 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Clay the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective June 9, 2025 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD June 9, 2025 Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2025 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. 3. Letter dated June 5, 2025 from the Assistant Director of Public Works, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Kelly Donaldson, 14323 Susanna Motioned by Valerie Jackson, seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6821 06/25 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Donaldson the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective June 9, 2025 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. Letter dated June 5, 2025 from the Assistant Director of Public Works, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Kevin Nerowski, 19614 St. Francis Motioned by Greg Jones, seconded by Valerie Jackson #WS 6822 06/25 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Mr. Nerowski the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective June 9, 2025 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. Letter dated June 4, 2025 from the Assistant Director of Public Works, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Anita Lomas, 9179 Cardwell Motioned by Greg Jones, seconded by Rich Skaggs #WS 6823 06/25 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Lomas the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective June 9, 2025 a Eighteen (18) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. At the request of the petitioner, the account at 9179 Cardwell will be put on a “payment plan”, whereby the account will receive monthly versus quarterly billings from now on. Letter dated May 9, 2025 from the Assistant Director of Public Works, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Rosemary Snody, 14384 Farmington Motioned by Valerie Jackson, seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6824 06/25 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Snody the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective June 9, 2025 a Twenty-Four (24) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. At the request of the petitioner, the account at 14384 Farmington will be put on a “payment plan”, whereby the account will receive monthly versus quarterly billings from now on. If required, an M2 reading device will be installed at the residence within the next thirty days. During the Twenty-Four (24) month payment plan, each monthly bill is to be paid in full and on time. Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2025, 2026 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. The Board does also hereby grant the removal of the penalty dated May 14, 2025 in the amount of $27.00. Letter dated June 5, 2025 from the Assistant Director of Public Works, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Tamika Fizer, 20209 Antago Motioned by Rich Skaggs, seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6833 06/25 RESOLVE, that the Water and Sewer Board does deny and will take no further action on the request of the above customer, due to the fact that they did not appear at the June 9, 2025 meeting. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Jackson, Jones NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. 8. Letter dated May 16, 2025 from the Assistant Director of Public Works, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Kerry McNeely, 15810 Harrison Motioned by Rich Skaggs, seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6834 06/25 RESOLVE, that the Water and Sewer Board does deny and will take no further action on the request of the above customer, due to the fact that they did not appear at the June 9, 2025 meeting. Letter dated June 3, 2025 from the Assistant Director of Public Works, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Jinny Bodnar, 11033 Merriman Motioned by Rich Skaggs, seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6835 06/25 RESOLVE, RESOLVE, that the Water and Sewer Board does deny and will take no further action on the request of the above customer, due to the fact that they did not appear at the June 9, 2025 meeting. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Jackson, Jones REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD June 9, 2025 NAYS: The Chairman declared the motion carried. The next meeting of the Water and Sewer Board is scheduled for Monday, July 7, 2025 at 5:00pm. Upon a motion by Rich Skaggs, seconded by Greg Jones, the meeting was adjourned at 5:50 pm.
