HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-01-08 REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD January 8, 2024 The Regular Meeting of the Water and Sewer Board of the City of Livonia, Michigan, held on Monday, January 8, 2024 was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman Brett Gierak. Approval of Minutes dated December 4, 2023 Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Candy Little #WS 6485 01/24 RESOLVED, that the Minutes of the Regular Meeting held December 4, 2023 are hereby approved. AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Jones, Jackson, Little 2. Letter dated January 4, 2024 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Danielle Burstall, 9841 Garvett Motioned by Valerie Jackson seconded by Candy Little #WS 6486 01/24 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Burstall the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective January 8, 2024 an Eighteen (18) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. At the request of the petitioner, the account at 9841 Garvett will be put on a “payment plan”, whereby the account will receive monthly versus quarterly billings from now on. If required, an M2 reading device will be installed at the residence within the next thirty days. During the Eighteen (18) month payment plan, each monthly bill is to be paid in full and on time. REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD January 8, 2024 Additionally, the Board requests that the outstanding balance that would be assigned to the 2025 Winter taxes not be consigned, provided the account is in good standing and meeting their obligations if under a payment plan agreement. Letter dated December 14, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Amanda Gurny, 29651 Curtis Motioned by Candy Little seconded by Rich Skaggs #WS 6487 01/24 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. Gurny the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective January 8, 2024 an Eighteen (18) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. Letter dated January 3, 2024 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Katie McCann, 14748 Ingram Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Valerie Jackson REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD January 8, 2024 #WS 6488 01/24 RESOLVE, that after discussion with Ms. McCann the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective January 8, 2024 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Letter dated December 14, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Melody Doyle, 28617 Dover Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Candy Little #WS 6489 01/24 RESOLVE, that the Water and Sewer Board does deny and will take no further action on the request of the above customer, due to the fact that they did not appear at the January 8, 2024 meeting. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: None The Chairman declared the motion carried. 6. Letter dated December 15, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Sarah DeBruin, 30849 Dalhay Motioned by Greg Jones seconded by Candy Little REGULAR MEETING WATER & SEWER BOARD January 8, 2024 #WS 6490 01/24 RESOLVE, that the Water and Sewer Board does deny and will take no further action on the request of the above customer, due to the fact that they did not appear at the January 8, 2024 meeting. A roll call vote was taken: AYES: Gierak, Skaggs, Little, Jackson, Jones NAYS: None The Chairman declared the motion carried. 7. Letter dated December 14, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Joshua Jajko, 14492 Ronnie Lane Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6491 01/24 RESOLVE, the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective January 8, 2024 a Six (6) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Letter dated December 7, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Joshua Barnhart, 29587 Puritan Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6494 01/24 RESOLVE, the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective January 8, 2024 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Letter dated December 12, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Marina Hollins, 32829 Illinois Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6496 01/24 RESOLVE, the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective January 8, 2024 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account. Letter dated December 12, 2023 from Superintendent of Public Service, Subject: Request for Consideration of Bill - Spencer Jackson, 34373 Munger Motioned by Rich Skaggs seconded by Greg Jones #WS 6497 01/24 RESOLVE, the Water and Sewer Board does hereby grant effective January 8, 2024 a Twelve (12) month extension at the end of which the account will have a zero balance, including all new bills generated during that time. All late fees will be held in abeyance during this time, with the understanding that if the balance is not paid by the expiration date of this extension, all such late fees held in abeyance, plus any additional fees incurred for nonpayment will be returned to the account.
