Minutes of the regular meeting of the Livonia Township
Zoning Board, held in the Township Hall, Friday, Jan.20,1950.
Members present: Carson Johnston, George Bentley, Walter
Russell and Attorney William Bradhear.
The following petitions were presented to the Board for
changes in Zoning:
No.1 - Petition of Henry Grimm, Jr., et al, for change in
Zoning to ICI-2 on. the following described properties::
Parcel 1. Beginning at a point on the East and
West 1/4 line of Section 29, which is 439.91 feet
from the section 1/4 corner thence running east
along said 'East and West 1/4 line to the south
boundary line of the Pere Marquette Railway right
of way, thence northwesterly along the south
boundary of said right of way to a point which. is
446.80 feet from the North and South 1/4 line as
measured along the south boundary of said railway
right of way line, and running thence S 2°53'10"
E to the point of beginning.
Parcel 2. The west 110 acres of the southeast
1/4 of Section 29 except --
1. A parcel with a frontage of 165 feet on
Plymouth. Road and a depth of 396 feet
measured from the center of Plymouth Road
which parcel is located 990 feet east of
the North and South 1/4 section line;
2. A parcel described as that part of the
southeast 1/4 of Section 29 described as
beginning at the center 1/4 corner of
said Section, thence S 0° 11' W along the
North and South 1/4 line 1061.20 feet;
thence a 88° 36' E 497 feet; thence
N 2° 53' 10" W 1071.82 feet to the Bast
and West 1/4 line of Section 29; thence
N 89° 37' 30" W along said North and South
1/4 line 439.91 feet to the point of
beginning.
3. That part included within the boundaries
of Plymouth Road; and
4. That part along the north boundary located
within the boundaries of the Pere Marquette
right of way.

- Petition of Raymond E. Grimm, et al, for change
to M-2 on the following described property:
The East 50 Acres of the Southeast 1/4
of Section 29 except the South 60 feet
being used for road purposes and also
excepting so much of the north part as
lies within the boundaries of the Pere
Marquette Railway right of way.
Petition. of Earl Ryder and George L. Ryder for
Zoning to M-2 classification on the following
property:
That part of the Southeast 1/4 of Sec.29
known as the Ryder, homestead containing
1-1/2 acres with a frontage of 165 feet
on Plymouth Road measured in an Easterly
direction from a point 990 ft. East of
the Southwest corner of Sec. 29, and with
a depth of 396 feet from the center line
of. Plymouth Road,
as Petition of Elmer J. and Edna Alexander, for change
to Mp2 Classification on the following described
The West 165.0 feet of the Southwest 1/4 of.
Section 28, T 1 5, R 9 E, excepting the South
60 feet used for road purposes and subject
to any public utility or other rights or
easements now in the use or of record and
subject to existing restrictions upon the
use of said lands.
- Petition of mrs. Margaret N. Peterson for change
to M-2 classification on the following described
That part of SE 1/4 of Section 29 described as
beginning at a point on the North and South
quarter line of said section distant South 00
11° West 761.20 feet from the center quarter
corner of Section 29 and proceeding thence
South 880 361 East 480.89 feet, thence South
2° 53° 10" East 300.77 feet, thence North
880 361 West 497 feet, thence North 0° 11°
East along the North and South quarter section
line 300 feet to point of. beginning. Covers
3.37 acres and a net of 3.14 acres is shown
on plat.

No.6 = Petition of ;Amer D. Mende and Viola M. Mende,
for change of zoning to M-2 Classification on the following
described. property:
Parcel No.1 - The East 99.0 ft. of the
Meet 264.0 feet of the Southeast 1/4 of
Section 28 T 1 S, R 9 E/ except the
south 60 feet used for road purposes and
excepting also a strip along the north
boundary which lies within the boundary
of the Pere Marquette Railway right of way.
Parcel No.2 = The East 231.0 feet of the
Weet 495 feet of the Southwest 1/4 of
Section 28 T 1 S, R 9 E. excepting there-

No.7 - Petition of Clarence Gleeson and Edna F. Gleeson,
for change of zoning to M-2 classification on the following
described property:
That part of the East 1/2 of Section 29
described as beginning at the center
quarter corner of Section 29 and proceed-
ing thence North 00 18' East along the
North and South quarter line 211.15 feet
to the Southerly line of the Chesapeake &
Ohio Railroad right of way; thence South
75° 59' East along said Southerly line
466.80 feet, thence South 2° 53' 10" East
877 feet, thence North 88° 36' West 480.89
feet, thence North 00 11' East along the
North and South quarter section line 761.20
feet to point of beginning. Covers 9.64
acres (8.90 acres on the plat)
No.8 - Petition of Hazel Johnson, et al, for change of
zoning to C-2 classification on the following described pro-
perty:
The West 1/2 of the East 1/2 of the South-
West 1/4 of Sec. 24 except the South 102'
thereof; also the West 1/2 of the East 1/
of the Southwest 1/4 except the South 102'
thereof, containing 57.45 acres. (Note: This
property fronts on Schoolcraft Road for a
distance of approximately 1000 feet, commencing
at a point approximately 1300 feet east of the
east boundary of. Middlebelt Road)

Petition No.9 = Petition of Aaron M. Martin to change
the zoning to C=1 elas.sigication on the following described
property:
100 foot frontage on Schoolcraft Road,
to a depth of 300 feet, said property
being approximately 213 feet from the
West boundary of Middlebelt Road and
being more particularly described as
Lot 10 of Wolfrom Rotates, a subdivision
of part of the Southeast 1/4 of Sec.23,
Town 1 South,, Range 9 East. to a depth
of 300 feet from Middiebelt Road.
0n motion by Mr. Bentley, seconded by Mr. Russell, these
petitions were approved and passed to the Attorney, for
publication of public hearing at the earlket date.
On motion by Mr. Bentley, seconded by Mr. Russell, the
following resolution was passed:
RESOLVED: That the words "BOO sq.ft." appearing in
the definition of Zone "A." be hereby changed to 624 sq. ft.
minimum.
There being no further business to come before the Board,
the meeting was adjourned by Chairman Johnston at 9:40 P.M.
