Minutes of the regular meeting of the Livonia Township Zoning
Board, held in the Township Hall, May 26th, 1949,
This meeting is also a Public Hearing to consider two petitions
for ohange of Zoning.
The meeting was called to order at 8:15 PM by Chairman Johnston,
Members present: Carson Johnston, C.orge Bentley, Robert-Rewey,
Walter Russell and Attorney John Ambrose.
Petition idol, of Mr. Nicholas Banick, was read, which requested
a change in Zoning from an R-U-F-B requirement to a 091 requirement,
on the following described property;
Lot 549 of Supervisor's Plat No.j of
part of the southeast quarter of section 30,
town one (1) south, range nine (9) east,
Livonia Township, Wayne County, Michigan,
being further described as that area bounded
on the east by Newburgh Road; on the north
by Plymouth Road and commencing with the
westerly edge of.Newburgh Road westerly along
the southerly edge of Plymouth Road to a
point 639.32 feet; thence southerly by an
imaginery line which is parallel to Newburgh
Road 483.35 feet to a point; thence easterly
along the northerly edge of the Edward N.
Hines Drive 638.39 feet to a point along the
westerly edge of Newburgh Road 155.07 feet to the
place of beginning,said area being located on
Zoning Map No.3.
The request for change was discussed and the Zoning explained
by attorney Ambrose,
Two letters were read which objected to the chance of Zoning.
Mr. Banick explained his reason for asking
since no one present was in favor of the change,
by Mr. Russell, s conded by Mr. Bentley, denied
recommended that it be returned to the Township
recommendation,
Petition %o,2 - requesting a change in Zoning from an R-1-B
requirement to a C-1 requirement on tht3 following described property:
The area bounded on the South by the Northerly
line of Plymouth Road; on the 'West by the west
section line of Section 28; on the North by a line
parallel to, and 300 feet northerly of, the North
line of Plymouth Road; on the .-East by a line
parallel to, and 893.50 feet east of the west
section line 28, said area being located in
Zoning Map No.3.

There being no one present representing either side, this
petition was tabled with the request that the petitioners appear
to state the reason for the change, and that the Secretary notigy
them accordingly.
Mr, Costello of 18645 Merririta.n Road, appeared before the Board
asking for some relief concerning spraying of trees by a neighbor.
This being a private matter, the Board suggested to him that this
must be settled between himself and the neighbor.
On motion of Mir. Russell.., seconded by Mr. Re John Ambrose
was given a vote of appreciation for his work on the Zoning Commission
for the past five years.
There being no further business to come before the Bca.rd, the
meeting was adjourned by Chairman Johnston,
