Minutes of meeting of the Livonia Township Planning Boardman
Publics hearing on proposed new zoning ordinance and map, held
at Pierson School, on seven mile road, Livonia Township at
eight o'olook P.M. Aug. 21st 1945.

Meeting was oalled to order at 8.15 F. M. with proposed new
zoning maps on prominent display.
Mrs. Margo Ott was engaged as a public stenographer to take down
notes on the meeting and her notes ahall become a part of these
minutes. This meeting oonstitutes.the.first of three publie
hearings on the proposed: new zoning map and zoning ordinanoe
under provision of not # 184 of the publio Rota, State of Michigan
Nineteen hundred and forty three (1943)
Chairman Johnston explained the history of zoning in Livonia
Township and introduced to those present (about thirty) all of
the members of the Plahning Board, Attorney Ambrose and Engineer
.)ohnsbn. Some opposition to zoning Seven Mile Road from Inkster
Road to Lathers was presented and interested parties were
requested to prepare their proposition for consideration at
the next publio Hearing at the Livonia Township Hall at 8. pm.
aug. 23rd, 1945.
Chairman Johnston explained in detail the various zones on the
proposed new zoning map, calling attention where ohangea had been
made and explaining why.
It developed at this meeting that the consensus of opinion was
overwhelmingly in favor of zoning Lathery St. under rural urban
farms uses (R. O. F. ) , this for the plot bounded on the north
by Seven Mile Road, on the south by Curtis st. east by Gillman
and on the West by Harrison Ave. The proposition of changing
this distriot was taken under advisement.
The Public Hearing was olosed at ten Y. M. and those who had
attended were apparently satisfied with the proposed new zoning
map with the exception of the objections named here and contained
in the notes of Mrs. ott.

was adjourned until the next Public Hearing to he held at the
Livonia Tpwnship Hall, Thursday, Aug. 23rd 1945 at eight otolook
