MINUTES OF MEETING OF LIVONIA TOWNSHIP PLANNING BOARD HELD AT
LIVONIA TOWNSHIP HALL MAY 31, 1945
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER AT 8.30 PM WITH CHAIRMAN JOHNSTON, GEORGE
BENTI.EY WM. FENSKE AND GEORGE L. ISBELL PRESENT AS WELL AS ATTORNEY
JOHN B. AMBROSE, ENGINEERS W.C. JOHNSON AND M. F. WARING AND BUILDING
INSPECTOR RAY OWNS:
MR. ORA E. BRANCH APPEARED BEFORE THE BOARD. HE HAD BUILT A POULTRY
HOUSE AT 38001 SCHOOLCRAFT WITHOUT OBTAINING A. BUILDING PERMIT. HE
REQUESTED PERMIT TO BUILD A 201X30' UTILITY ROOM AND GARARGE TO BE
USED "TEMPORARILY" AS A DWELLING AND LATER TO BE CONNECTED UP WITH
A "RANCH TYPE" RESIDENCE. ON ASSURANCE FROM BUILDING INSPECTOR OWENS
A MOTION WAS MADE BY MR. BENTLEY, SECONDED BY MR. FENSKE THAT A PERMIT
BE ISSUED PROVIDED THIRTY INCH FOUNDATION WALL BE INSTALLED AND THAT
THE BUILDING HE MAY BE USED AS A DWELLING "FOR THE DURATION AND SIX
MONTHS". MOTION CARRIED.
MR. ANTHONY NOVAK, 12115 MERRIMAN (NORTH OF PLYMOUTH) APPEARED BEFORE
THE BOARD. HE HAD STARTED POULTRY HOUSE TOO CLOSE TO LOT LINE AND
CONSTRUCTION HAD BEEN HALTED BY ORDER OF BUILDING INSPECTOR OWENS.
MR. NOVAK WAS INSTRUCTED TO GET A LETTER CONSENTING TO THE ERECTION
OF THIS STRUCTURE FROM A MR. SCHAEFER, OWNER OF THE LOT NORTH OF MR.
NOVAK'S PROPERTY. MOTION WAS MADE BY FENSKE, SECONDED BY ISBELL
THAT IF MR NOVAK PRESENTED HIS PLAN TOGETHER WITH PROPER LETTER FROM
MR. SCHAEFER THAT PERMIT BE ISSUED. MOTION CARRIED.
MR. JOHN TESSEN, 9080 MIDDLE BELT ROAD APPEARED BEFORE THE BOARD
WITH THE REQUEST THAT PERMISSION BE GRANTED TO MOVE FRAME BUILDING
NOW AT 29350 JOY ROAD A DISTANCE OF FORTY SEVEN FEET(47') DUE EAST
OF ITS PRESENT LOCATION. IT WAS MOVED BY FENSKE, SECONDED BY BELTLEY
THAT PERMIT BE APPROVED WITH THE ASSURANCE THAT SHOULD BNY BUILDING
BE ERECTED ON EAST SIDE OF STRUCTURE AFTER IT IS MOVED TO PROtOSED
NEW LOCATION THE EAST WALL OF SAID STRUCTURE MUST BE MADE OF MASONERY
CONSTRUCTION TO COMPLY WITH ZONING ORDINANCE. MPTION CARRIED.
MR. W. M. GUST PRESENTED A PETETION REQUESTING THAT PROPERTY AS
DESCRIBED BELOW BY CHANGED FROM RESIDENTIAL USE TO USE FOR BUSINESS
PURPOSES: "LOTS NUMBER FIFTY (50) AND FIFTY ONE (51)
OF E. G. SETTLE REALTY CO.'S ' ONAPARTE GARDENS"
SUBDIVISION, BEING A SUBDIVISION OF THE S 1/2
OF. S. E. I/4 OF SECTION 35, TOWN I SOUTH, RANGE
9 EAST, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF AS RECORDED
IN LIBER 54 OF PLATS ON PAGE 75, WAYNE COUNTY RECORDS"
THIS PETETION WAS TAKEN UNDER ADVISEMENT FOR EARLY CONSIDERATION.
THE ENGINEERS HAD PREPAIRED NEW ZONING MAPS IN BLANK
FOR USE CLASSIFICATION OF TEE VARIOUS DISTRICTS AND CONSIDERABLE
PROGRESS WAS MADE IN FILLIN IN THE DIFFERENT DISTRICTS.
ON MOTION BY BENTLEY SECONDED BY ISBELL THE MEETING WAS
ADJOURNED AT II.20,PM AND NEXT MEETING WAS CALLED F0ON/JUNE 7TH TT
