PLANNING BOARD
February 25, 1943
Meeting of the Livonia Township Planning Conmu scion was held
at the Township Hall, February 25, 1943.
Members present were as follows:
T. Glenn Phillips ---
Carson Johnson
George Bentley
William Fenske
George Isbell
Harry S. Wolfe
Herald Hamill
The meeting. was called to order by Carson Johnston at 9:00
'o'clock P. M.
T. Glenn Phillips explained spine of the benefits the township
might receive.by post-war projects.
Mr. -Johnston asked Mr. Phillips if the State was contemplating
helping by way of building schools. Mr. Phillips explained that Mr.
Elliott, Head of the State Board of 'Education? would work on that
project.
Mr. Johnston said that he thought the board should look into the
matter of the erection of a high school in the Township. Mr. Fenske
said that it was necessary for every district in the Township to vote
favorably to consolidate all the districts in the Township before a
Township high school could be built.
Mr. Johnston asked Mr. Phillips if he would ask a representative
of the State Planning Board to appear before the Board to explain the
possibilities of obtaining sewers, water, high schools and other im-
provements, and the advisability of consolidating the Township for a
high school.

Mr. Phillips stated that Livonia Township is the only Township
in the State of Michigan that is entirely zoned.
Mr. Hamill informed the Planning Board that the Township Board
had instructed him to make a survey of areas badly in need of drainage
and report same to the Township Board.
Moved by George Bentley, supported by William Fenske, that the
meeting be adjourned. Carried.
