Meeting of the Township Planning Board, held at the Taxpayers
• Association Meeting, February 11, 1942.
Ray Thorp, 28102 Joy Road, has 80 feet near Floral Avenue and
has a small hardware _store. Mr. Thorp was very much concerned about
the effect zoning w:buld have on his business , said that he
wanted to have the right to enlarge his building. He was informed
that this situation would be considered.
Mr. Wilson asked what provision was made for trailer camps.
It was explained that there was already a Trailer Camp Ordinance
for the Township.
Mr. Roy Davis asked if there was any regulation for selling
unrecorded plats. It was explained to him that the platting laws
provide that property divided and sold in three or more pieces
must be recorded.
Mr. Fred Barnsey asked what would happen if a man was in the
process of changing a single home into a two-family flat in a one
family neighborhood when Zoning goes into effect. Mr. Phillips
explained that this could be handled through the Board of Appeals,
and applicant would get due consideration.
Mr. Carson Johnston, Chairman of the Planning Commission,
explained that the Board was going to meet with a representative
of 'the Pere Marquette Railroad on Friday evening to make a very
thorough study of the area along the Pere Marquette tracks before
deciding on industrial areas, and thanked the group for the
privilege of meeting with them.
