● LaShawn Thomas and Commissioner Drzewicki shared updates from the July 11 city
council meeting in which two topics of interest were discussed.
○ Following the Pride flag raising Councilmen Bahr proposed creating an ordinance
that would require the unanimous approval of all council members and the
mayor to fly any flags other than the federal, state, and city flags. This was
approved and has been sent to legal to start drafting language.
○ Councilmen McCullough proposed sending Civil & Human Rights Protections to
committee to be further discussed. This was rejected 4-3 because many felt it
was too vague and weren’t sure what was being referred to exactly. At the
regular council meeting on 7/25 Councilmen McCullough plans to specifically
focus on sending the NDO to committee since it has not modified since 1982
● The next Inclusion Round Table with the Livonia Chamber of Commerce will be
Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Masco Headquarters from 6:30-8:00. The focus will be
