ALEXANDER BLUE HOUSE Present: Diann Dupuis, Lindsey Hakala, Deanna Brown, Laurel Cummings, Mary Cambridge Absent: Laura Turner Other Attendees: Emily Tchorz-Fielder Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by D. Brown. I. Review of Correspondence – None II. Review of Minutes a. March Voting Minutes Motion 0401: L. Cummings made a motion to approve, D. Dupuis seconded. It was unanimously approved. III. Treasurer’s Report a. March Report i. Income: $818.00 ii. Expenses $4601.50 (Deposit for Bungalow Roof) iii. Preservation $6972.75 Motion 0402: L. Hakala made a motion to approve treasurer’s report as presented, D. Dupuis seconded. It was unanimously approved. IV. Commissioner’s Report of Activities: a. Diann Dupuis i. Attended Pioneering Women presentation b. Mary Cambridge i. Worked 75 hours: Clarenceville Cemetery, priced jewelry, worked in printshop & gift shop, worked on display in farmhand’s house V. Greenmead 365: a. No updates; possibly getting an update mid-May VI. Review of Events: a. Cold Blooded Creatures i. 15 in first session, 5 in the second session ii. Hosted by MetroParks staff Lisa iii. Went very well, possibly aim for another event in fall b. Pioneering Women – Eleanor Roosevelt i. Rochelle did a great job! c. HLS – Deaf Defying Odds i. Carol Brichford presented; about 15 people attended d. Eggspress Yourself i. Had just under 20 kids ii. Bonnie Goodrich & friend presented VII. Upcoming Events: a. Gwen Frostic Day (April 23) b. Jewelry Sale (April 30) c. Kentucky Derby Fascinator Class (April 30) d. Something Old, New, Borrowed, & Blue (April 30, May 7, May 14) e. Volunteer Season Opener (May 12) f. Painting and Planting (May 14) g. Newburg Cemetery Clean-Up Day (May 14) h. Livonia Garden Club – Native Plant Sale (May 14) i. HLS – Asian Pacific Americans: Who are we? Where are we? (May 16) j. Livonia Garden Club Plant Sharing (May 21) VIII. Maintenance Report a. Bungalow i. Back door has been replaced b. North Barn i. Door to be installed at the end of the month c. Blue House i. On agenda for consent meeting for Council on May 2 ii. Quote received for some woodwork in the front d. School, Parsonage & Church i. Waiting on electrical panel quote requested IX. New Business: a. BIG Picnic Day (Saturday, July 9) i. Reached out to a few groups: 1. Library- One City One Book related activity 2. Youth Commission – Seeing if they’ll sponsor a face painter or balloon animal 3. Archery w/ foam arrows 4. Police Department 5. Free fitness classes th 6. The 17 Michigan– Walking around in costume, maybe small craft 7. Pie & ice cream at meeting house? We could either sell or just ask for donations a. Diann to ask Costco 8. Harmony Town – concert in the church? 9. Checking into old-time baseball 10. Need volunteers for sponge toss (in lieu of water balloon) sack races, three-legged races, etc. 11. Looking into food trucks b. New Parks & Recreation Logo Announced at State of the City X. Vision21 Goals: What do we focus on first and how do we accomplish the goal? a. Engage visitors in positive learning experiences about Livonia’s history through tours and programming. b. Expand outreach to schools, libraries, and non-profits through presentations, publications, or traveling exhibits. c. Develop exhibits to reach a broader audience and attract new visitors to Greenmead d. Transfer documentation of artifacts from paper to digital records utilizing Past Perfect and providing online access to our archives. XI. Walk-On Items: a. None Adjournment: L.
