HomeMy WebLinkAboutTraffic Commission 2017-02-09 th MINUTES OF THE 730 REGULAR MEETING LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION th The 730 Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third-floor conference room at City Hall on Thursday, February 9, 2017; it was called to order by Chairperson Jim Policelli at 7:30 p.m. PRESENT: Commissioners: Jim Policelli, Gordon Draper, John Katers, Gordon St. John, Rebekah Farabaugh, Joel Turbiak, and Jim Keller; and Livonia Police Sergeant Brian Leigh. VISITORS: None Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the January 12, 2017, meeting were reviewed. Commissioner Draper offered a motion to approve the minutes as written and with support from Commissioner Farabaugh, it was approved by unanimous vote that: 17- 235 RESOLVED, the minutes of the January 12, 2017, meeting are approved as written. Agenda item 2: No Parking along Henry Ruff (Section 23) An e-mail was sent to the Commission from resident Tina Culver, residing at the corner of Henry Ruff and Hoy, regarding the “No Parking” signs on Henry Ruff. However, the resident was not present at the meeting to state the issue. Therefore, the Commission agreed to take no further action at this time. Roundtable Discussion: Formal introduction and welcome of new Commissioner Joel Turbiak. Chairperson Policelli reported on some information that Todd wanted to share with the commission regarding upcoming road work projects on City-maintained streets. Chairperson Policelli also shared with the commission an e-mail submission from Morristown, West Virginia, City government. The Morristown government is formulating a similar commission and sought information on how our commission operates. Chairperson Policelli has contacted them via telephone and had a good dialogue with the person(s) in charge. Motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner Katers and supported by Commissioner St. John at 8:15 p.m. NEXT MEETING: Thursday, March 9, 2017, at City Hall.
