MINUTES OF THE 329th SPECIAL MEETING
HELD BY THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA
On Tuesday, June 26, 1979 the City Planning Commission of the City of Livonia held
its 329th Special Meeting in the Engineering Building, 13325 Farmington Road,
Livonia, Michigan. •

Mr. Daniel R. Andrew, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 10: 15 p.m.
Members present: Daniel R. Andrew Judith Scurto Esther Friedrichs
Joseph J. Falk Suzanne Wisler C. Russell Smith
Herman Kluver
Members absent: Jerome Zimmer Robert L. Morrow
On a motion duly made by Mrs. Friedrichs, seconded by Mr. Kluver and unanimously adopted,
it was
#6-96-79 RESOLVED that, pursuant to a request dated 6/20/79 from Marvin Waronoff,
_ National Management Group, the City Planning Commission does hereby
approve a modification of Condition No. 5 of Planning Commission Reso-
lution #9-206-78, adopted on September 19, 1978, in connection with
Petition 78-7-8-23 by Rosenberg & Waronoff requesting approval of all
•plans required by Section 18.47 of Ordinance #543, as amended by
Ordinance #990, submitted in connection with a proposal to construct
the Mid-7 Shopping Plaza on the east side of Middlebelt Road between
Clarita and Pickford in Section 12, to allow the erection of internally
illuminated wall signs or back-lighted signs on the subject site; and
FURTHER RESOLVED that, all other conditions as set forth in Resolution
#9-206-78 are valid and remain in full force and effect.
Mr. Andrew, Chairman, declared the motion is carried and the foregoing resolution adopted.
On a motion duly made by Mr. Kluver and seconded by Mr. Smith, it was
#6-97-79 RESOLVED that, pursuant to Section 18.58 of Ordinance #543, the Zoning
Ordinance, as amended by Ordinance #1306, the City Planning Commis-
sion does hereby approve Petition 79-5-8-12P by Forest & Gargaro Con-
struction Company requesting approval of all plans required by Section
18.58 submitted in connection with a proposal to construct retail stores
on the south side of Ann Arbor Trail between Newburgh and Ann Arbor Roads
in Section 31 , subject to the following conditions:
(1) that Site Plan 78-3-1 , dated 6/25/79, prepared by Basney & Smith,
Inc. , which is hereby approved shall be adhered to;
(2) that Building Elevations as shown on Plan 79-319M, Sheet 2, as
revised, which are hereby approved shall be adhered to;
(3) that a detailed landscape plan showing all landscape materials
proposed to be installed on the site shall be submitted for Plan-
ning Commission approval within thirty (30) days; and

(4) that any signage proposed to be erected on the site shall be
IL submitted for Planning Commission approval prior to installation.
A roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following:
AYES: Kluver, Friedrichs, Smith, Falb, Andrew
NAYS: Scurto, Wisler,
ABSENT: Zimmer, Morrow
Mr. Andrew, Chairman, declared the motion is carried and the foregoing resolution adopted.
On a motion duly made by Mrs. Scurto, seconded by Mrs. Wisler and unanimously adopted,
it was
#6-98-79 RESOLVED that, pursuant to the provisions of Act 285 of the Public
Acts of Michigan, 1931, as amended, the City Planning Commission does
hereby establish and order that a public hearing be held to determine
whether or not Part VII of the Master Plan of the City of Livonia, the
Future Land Use Plan, should be amended to change the designation of
.property located on the southeast corner of Ann Arbor Trail and Newburgh
Road in Section 32, and property. located on the west side of Newburgh Road,
south of Ann Arbor Trail in Section 31, from commercial to office.
FURTHER RESOLVED that, notice of time and place of said hearing shall be
published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Livonia
IL and a notice by registered United, States mail shall be sent to each
public utility or railroad company owning or operating any public
utility or railroad within the City of Livonia in accordance with the
provisions of Act 285 of the Public Acts of Michigan, as amended.
Mr. Andrew, Chairman, declared the motion is carried and the foregoing resolution adopted.
On a motion duly made by Mrs. Scurto, seconded by Mrs. Wisler and unanimously adopted,
it was
#6-99-79 RESOLVED that, the City Planning Commission, pursuant to the provisions
of Act 285 of the Public Acts of Michigan, 1931, as amended, does hereby
establish and order that a public hearing be held to determine whether
or not to amend Part VII of the Master Plan of the City of Livonia, the
Future Land Use Plan, should be amended to change the designation of property
located on the west side of Newburgh Road, south of Ann Arbor Trail in the
N. E. 1/4 of Section 31, from General Commercial to Office.
FURTHER RESOLVED that, notice of time and place of said hearing shall be
published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Livonia and
a notice by registered United States mail shall be sent to each public
utility or railroad company owning or operating any public utility or railroad
within the City of Livonia in accordnance with the provisions of Act 285 of the
Public Acts of Michigan, as amended.
