MINUTES OF THE 216th SPECIAL MEETING OF THE
CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA
On Tuesday, January 11, 1966, the City Planning Commission of the City of Livonia,
held the 216th Special Meeting in the Engineering Building, 13325 Farmington Road,
Livonia, Michigan. Mr. Charles W. Walker, Chairman, called the meeting to order
at 11:05 p.m.
Members present: Charles W. Walker Raymond W. Tent Donald Heusted
Harry Wrightman Marvin Moser Bob R. Whitehead
Members absent: Donald C. Pollock John J. Ward Myra Chandler
Others present: Mayor Harvey W. Moelke; Don Hull, Planning Director, David
Perry, Assistant City Attorney
Mr. Wrightman announced the first item on the agenda is the matter of a one year
extension of Arbor Estates Subdivision No. 2 located in the Southwest 1/4 of
Section 31.
Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Whitehead, seconded by Mr. Wrightman, it was
#1-5-66 RESOLVED that, the City Planning Commission having previously
tabled the request made by the developer for an extension of
the preliminary plat approval for Arbor Estates Subdivision No. 2
in Resolution #7-115-65 adopted on July 6, 1965, and pursuant to
the 216th Special Meeting held by the City Planning Commission on
Tuesday, January 11, 1966, the City Planning Commission does hereby
rescind Resolution #7-115-65.
A roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following:
AYES: Wrightman, Tent, Heusted, Whitehead, Walker, Moser
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Pollock, Ward, Chandler
Mr. Walker declared the motion is carried and the foregoing resolution is adopted.
Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Tent and seconded by Mr. Wrightman, it was
#1-6=66 RESOLVED that, the City Planning Commission having previously tabled
the request made by the developer for an extension of the preliminary
plat of the proposed Arbor Estates Subdivision No. 2, located in the
Southwest 1/4 of Section 31 in its Resolution #7-115-65; and having
thereafter on January 11, 1966 rescinded the aforesaid resolution,
the Planning Commission does hereby grant a one year extension of the
preliminay plat as revised.
A. roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following:
AYES: Walker, Tent, Heusted, Whitehead, Weightman, Moser
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Pollock, Ward, Chandler
Mr. Walker, Chairman, declared the motion is carried and the foregoing resolution
is adopted.

Mr. Weightman announced the next item on the agenda is the matter of a one year
extension of Dover Courts Subdivision located in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 31.
Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Whitehead and seconded by Mr. Weightman, it was
#1-7-66 RESOLVED that, pursuant to the 216th Special Meeting held by the
City Planning Commission on Tuesday, January 11, 1966, the City
Planning Commission does hereby rescind resolution #11-191-65
adopted on November 2, 1965 for Petition 65-10-4-6, Dover Courts
Subdivision, located in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 31.
A roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following:
AYES: Wrightman, Tent, Heusted, Moser, Whitehead, Walker
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Pollock, Ward, Chandler
Mr. Walker, Chairman, declared the motion is carried and the foregoing resolution
is adopted.
Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Whitehead and seconded by Mr. Weightman, it was
#1-8-66 RESOLVED that, the City Planning Commission does hereby grant a
one year extension of the preliminay plat for Dover Courts Sub-
division as revised by the City of Livonia Planning Department,
located north of Joy Road between Mix and Eckles Road in the
Southwest 1/4 of Section 31, for the following reasons:
(1) It is of sufficient calibre to justify our approval.
(2) It is consistent with the Zoning Ordinance and the
Subdivision Rules and Regulations.
A roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following:
AYES: Tent, Heusted, Moser, Whitehead, Weightman, Walker
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Pollock, Ward, Chandler
Mr. Walker, Chairman declared the motion is carried and the foregoing resolution
is adopted.
Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Whitehead and seconded by Mr. Tent, it was
#1-9-66 RESOLVED that, the final plat of Dover Courts Subdivision, located
north of Joy Road between Mix and Eckles Road in the Southwest 1/4
of Section 31, be given final approval for the following reasons:
(1) It is consistent with the previously approved preliminary plat;
(2) The required financial obligation of the City has been met; and
FURTHER RESOLVED, inasmuch as it appears on the records that
tentative approval of said proposed plat was given by the City
Planning Commission under resolution #11-344-59 adopted on
November 10, 1959; and it further appearing that said proposed
plat together with plans and specifications for improvements

therein have been approved by the Department of Public Works,
Engineering Division, under date of October 26, 1965; and it
further appearing that the financial assurances required in City
Council Resolution No. 1046-65 adopted on November 3, 1965 have
been filed with the City Clerk as confirmed by a letter dated
December 3, 1965 and January 6, 1966 from Addison W. Bacon, City
Clerk, it would therefore appear that all conditions necessary to
the release of building permits have been met and the Building
Department is hereby so notified.
A roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following:
AYES: Tent, Heusted, Moser, Whitehead, Walker, Wrightman
NAYS: None
ABSENT: Pollock, Ward, Chandler
Mr. Walker, Chairman, declared the motion is carried and the foregoing resolution
is adopted.
Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Tent, seconded by Mr. Wrightman, and unanimously
adopted, the City .Planning Commission does hereby adjourn the 216th Special
Meeting held on Tuesday, January 11, 1966, at approximately 11:20 p.m.
