HomeMy WebLinkAboutPLANNING MINUTES 1960-08-03 . ► 2937 MINUTES OF THE 118TH SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION % 11: OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA i On Wednesday, August 3, 1960 the City Planning Commission of the City of Livonia held the 118th Special Meeting at the Livonia City Hall, 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan. Mr. Robert L. Angevine, Chairman, called the meeting to order at approximately 8:00 p.m. Members present: William R. Peacock, William R. Robinson, Leonard K. Kane, Charles Walker, Dennis Anderson, Robert L. Greene, and Robert L. Angevine Members absent : *Wilford Okerstrom Mr. McCullough, City Planner was present. Mr. McCullough: The item on the agenda is the Parkview Manor Subdivision submitted by Kaufman & Broad Dev. Corp and located on the East side of Farmington Road approximately 175 ft. North of Rayburn and immediately South of Bell Farm Subdivision approximately 2,000 ft. North of Five Mile Road in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 15. Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Robinson and supported by Mr. Walker and unanimously adopted, it was #8=165-60 RESOLVED that, the City Planning Commission does hereby reaffirm its previous denial contained in its Resolution #6-112-60 of the preliminary plat for the proposed Parkview Manor Subdivision located in the Southwest . 1/4 of Section 15 for the following reasons: (1) The land encompassed by the said proposed plat is zoned RLA which requires lots with a minimum of 9600 square feet each; the lots indicated on the said proposed plat fail to comply with this requirement; and (2) The said proposed plat fails to show Myrna Street as an 86 foot wide right-of-way as required by the provision of the Zoning Ordinance, Ordinance No. 60 and Part I of the Master Plan, the so-called, "Master Thoroughfare Plan", and (3) The topography of the land proposed to be platted makes the same unsuitable for platting as proposed by the proprietor, i.e. , the hilly nature of the land makes it likely that the proposed intersection of Hampshire etandon Farmington bar ingtof the will be an extremely dangerous int limited sight distance for motor vehicles that would exist if developed as proposed; and (4) That Lots 56 through 60 and Lot 75 appear unuseable because of an existing drain and front and rear yard requirements; and IL (5) That the plat fails to show or provide a marginal access road along and adjacent to Farmington Road as required by Section 4.02 (n) of the Subdivision Rules and Regulations of the Commission; and (6) The proposed plat is entirely inharmonious with the character • 2938 of the surrounding development which composed largely of lots even larger than 9600 square feet; and (7) The petitioner failed to supply additional topographical information relating to Outlot A as requested at the public hearing by Commissioner William R. Robinson, and The purpose of this resolution is to supplement previous Planning Commission's Resolution #6-112-60 and shall in no event be construed to have rescinded that resolution. Mr. Angevine: The motion is carried and the foregoing resolution is adopted. *Mr. Okerstrom arrived at approximately 8:10 p.m. Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Kane, supported by Mr. Walker and unanimously adopted the 118th Special Meeting was duly adjourned at approximately 8:15 p.m. CITY PLANNING COMMISSION Leonard K.
