HomeMy WebLinkAboutPLANNING MINUTES 1958-03-11 1978 MINUTES OF THE 83RD SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA On March 11 , 1958 the above meeting was held by the City Planning Com- mission of the City of Livonia at the City Hall, 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia , Michigan. Chairman William R. Robinson called the 83rd Special Meeting to order at approximately 10:20 p.m. Members present : Robert L. Angevine H. Paul Harsha Wilfred Okerstrom William Robinson Robert Greene Leonard Kane Members absent : Dennis Anderson Fred A. Lotz Charles Walker Mr. Charles J. Pinto , Assistant City Attorney was present at this time . Mr. Robinson stated that a motion was in order to rezone certain property under Plan C for Civic Center needs . Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Kane , supported by Mr. Harsha, it was #3-56-58 RESOLVED that , in conformance with the City Planning Commission ' s studies of the past two years and also as indicated in Mr. Munson ' s "Parks and Recreations Study" , October, 1957 , of the Civic Center needs , the City Planning Commission at this time and on its own motion does hereby provide for a public hearing to be held to rezone to "CC" the following described land : A parcel of land being a part of the N.W . 1/4 of Section 22, T . 1S. , R 9 E. , City of Livonia , Wayne County , Michigan. Being more particularly described as follows : Beginning at a point a distance South 1 degree 25 minutes West , 1303 .50 feet and South 88 degrees 29 minutes East , 60 feet , said point being on the East right-of-way line of Farmington Road and pro- ceeding thence South 88 degrees 29 minutes East , 138.0 feet ; thence North 1 degree 25 minutes East , 30 feet ; thence South 88 degrees 29 minutes East 102 .0 feet; thence North 1 degree 25 minutes East 130.35 feet ; thence South 88 degrees 29 minutes East , 720.0 feet; thence North 46 degrees 16 minutes 19 seconds East , 161.19 feet; thence North 18 degrees 54 minutes 49 seconds east , 120.47 feet ; thence North 1 degree 25 minutes East , 370.17 feet; thence South 88 degrees 29 minutes East , 778.29 feet ; thence South 1 degree 16 minutes West , 689 .19 feet ; thence South 65 degrees 57 minutes East , 32 .52 feet; thence South 1 degree 16 minutes West , 55 .21 feet , thence South 88 degrees 30 minutes East , 129 .24 feet ; thence South 65 degrees 57 minutes East , 144.20 feet; thence North 24 degrees , 03 minutes East , 59 . 88 feet ; thence South 88 degrees 30 minutes East , 140.37 feet; thence South 65 degrees 57 minutes East , 58. 84 feet ; thence North 1 degree 17 minutes 30 seconds East , 22.77 feet; thence South 88 degrees 30 minutes East , 180.00 feet; thence South 1 degree 17 minutes 30 seconds West , 501.00 feet ; thence North 88 degrees 32 minutes 30 seconds West , 2583 . 80 feet ; thence North 1 degree 444 1979 :. 25 minutes East , 4.97 .37 feet to the Point of Beginning. C.:2 that a hearing be held and that notice be given as provided in Section 20.01 of the Zoning Ordinance , Ordinance No. 60 of the City of Livonia , and that there shall be submitted a report and recommendation thereon to the City Council . A roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following: AYES: Greene , Okerstrom, Kane , Harsha , Angevine , Robinson NAYS : None The Chairman announced that the foregoing resolution was adopted. At this time , Mr. Robinson announced that a motion was in order whether or not to amend the Master Plan to include the dbrement Toned parcel of land, for public purposes . Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Green , supported by Mr . Angevine , it was #3-57-58 RESOLVED that , the City Planning Commission shall on its own motion establish that a public hearing be held at the City Hall of the City of Livonia to consider and determine whether or not the Master Plan of the City of Livonia , adopted on December 13 , 1951 , pursuant to Act 285 of the Public Acts of 1931 , be amended to in- clude and reserve for public purposes the following described land: A Parcel of Land being a part of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 22 T . 1S. , R. 9 E. , City of Livonia, Wayne County , Michigan. IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of the time and place of said meeting shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the City of Livonia not less than 15 days prior to such hearing and which notices shall be mailed by registered United States mail to each public utility company and to each railroad company owning or operating any public utility or railroad in that portion of the municipality . A roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following: AYES: Green , Okerstrom , Kane , Harsha, Angevine , Robinson NAYS : None The Chair announced that the foregoing resolution is adopted. Mr. Kane suggested at this time that in the future it would be advisable to have the Commission member attend the Thursday Meeting of the City Council and then the following Monday meeting rather than just the Monday meeting . This would help considerably to understand more fully the items decided upon by the Council on Monday nights. Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Okerstrom , seconded by Mr. Harsha and unanimously carried, this Special Meeting was duly adjourned at approx- imately 10:45 p.m. , March 11 , 1958. 2 Ro ert L.
