HomeMy WebLinkAboutPLANNING MINUTES 1952-09-11 331 MINUTES OF THE TWENTY-EIGHTS SPECIAL MINTING OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION The twenty-eighth special meeting of the City Planning Commission was held on September 11, 1952 at the Court Hance Building, Livonia, Mich. The meeting was called to order at approximately 7:30 PM by Chairman, Dallas Hey, and roll was called with the following present: Hobert Maclntyre Clarence Jahn Walter Hassell George Bentley Edwin Conway Dallas Hay H. Pau]. Harsher Helen Byers Members absent: none. Also present were Mr. Wm Brashear, City Attorney; and Mr. Malcolm Waring, Planning Consultant. Mr. Both of the Durable Home Builders appeared regarding his subdivi- sion plat, in the NW 1/4 Section 36, on Harrison Avenue. In view of the fact that copies of this plat were not brought to this meeting, a special meeting will be held on Friday, September 12,1952 at 5:30 PM, on Five Mile Need, Livonia, Michigan to review changes made to comply with our previous recommendations. A new subdivision was received from Robert J. Eoff, known as Bell Creek Farms Subdivision. Upon a motion duly made by Clarence Jahn, seconded by Edwin Conway, it was RESOLVED, to refer the plat of Bell Creek Farms to Waring and Johnson for their recommendations. A roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following: AYES: Maclntyre, Harsha, Jahn, Russell, Conway, Bentley, Byers and Hay. NAYS: None. A statement was received from taring and Johnson dated September 1, 1952 in the amount of $852.92 and the secretary submitted same to the Commission for observation. Upon a motion duly made by Clarence Jahn and seconded by Edwin Conway, it was RESOLVED, to refer Waring & Johnson's statement in the amount of $852.92 to the City Council for payment. A roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following: AYES: MacIntyre, Harsha, Jahn, Russell, Conway, Bentley, Byers and Hay. NAYS: None A communication from Samuel R. and Maida E. Mills, 15580 Hidden Lane, Livonia, was read by the Secretary, requesting a change of zoning to residential acreage on a private road known as Hidden Lane, which has been subdivided into lots. The secretary was instructed to answer the letter informing Mr. Mills that the classification on the new proposed zoning map is to be RUF and if they desire higher restrictions, it will be necessary to file a petition in the usual manner. Mr. Edwin M. Orr appeared regarding Greenette Subdivision. He presented a new plat with additional alterations for approval. 333 Upon a motion duly made by Halter Russell and seconded by Clarence Jahn, it was RESOLVED, to give tentative approval on the proposed. Greenette Subdivision after Mr. Waring checks the street names; Barry to be changed to Oxbow. Mr. Harsha made the suggestion that the owners of this subdivision should dedicate 1/2 of a street on the south side. Mr. Russell withdrew his motion and Mr. Jahn, his second to the motion. Upon a motion duly made by Walter Russell and seconded by Edwin Conway, it was RESOLVED, to give tentative approval of the revised Greenette Subdivision plat providing the owner dedicate 30 feet on the southerly side for a future street and correction of street names. A roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following: AYES: MacIntyre, Harsha, Jahn, Russell, Conway, Bentley, Byers and Hay. NOS: None A lengthy discussion was held on half streets and on checking the subdivision regulations; and upon a motion duly made by Walter Russell and seconded by Clarence Jahn, it was RESOLVED, to rescind the previous motion and table until Messrs. Brashear, Waring and Orr can secure additional information from PHA, etc. A roll call vote on the foregoing resolution resulted in the following: AYES: Maclntyre, Harsha, Jahn, Russell, Conway, Bentley, Byers and Hay. NAYS: None At a roximately 9:45 PM, a motion was duly made by Robert Maclntyre and seconded by Clarence Jahn and unanimously carried, and it was RESOLVED, that this meeting be adjourned.
