HomeMy WebLinkAboutPRDA MINUTES 2001-06-21 MINUTES OF THE 126TH REGULAR MEETING OF THE PLYMOUTH Cie ROAD DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA The 126th Regular Meeting of the Plymouth Road Development Authority of the City of Livonia, Michigan was called to order at 3:10 p.m., Thursday, June 21, 2001 in the 4th Floor Conference Room at City Hall. Members Present: Mayor Jack E. Kirksey Mr. Scott Grace Ms. Toni Mette Mr. Duane Wolfgang, Vice Chairman Mr. Marvin Walkon Mr. Butch Raby Mr. Lowell Peterson Mr. Dennis Kujawa Mr. Rod Crider Members Absent: Mr. Bill Pike (Excused) Mr. Stan Anderson(Excused) Mr. Jerry Wordhouse, Chairman* (Excused) Mr. Mike Polsinelli(Excused) Others Present: Mr. John J. Nagy, P.R.D.A. Director Mr. Scott Reinholt, BRI Mr. Richard O'Brien BRI Dr. Robert Auth, Rosedale Gardens Civic Association Ms. Debbie Walter, Secretary 1. Roll was called. 2. Adoption of the May 17, 2001 Minutes: The Minutes were unable to be approved, due to the fact that only the uneven page numbers had been copied and all even page numbers were missing. On a motion made by Lowell Peterson, and supported by Marvin Walkon, it was #2001-17 RESOLVED, that adoption of the Minutes of the 125th Regular Meeting held by the Plymouth Road Development Authority on June 21st would be deferred to the next Regular Meeting. 3. Budget Report - Mike Slater: Due to Mike Slater's absence, finance report will be discussed at next meeting. Scott Reinholt introduced Richard O'Brien, who is the new Project Landscape Architect, replacing JoAnn Marshall. 2 4. Beckett& Raeder—Progress Report: There is still a brick shortage affecting our construction schedule to complete the walls at the intersection plazas. A brick shipment is scheduled to be delivered the first week in July. Our ground maintenance crews are having difficulty keeping up with our schedules and we have issues and continue to meet with them to work things out. They are slow at getting sufficient people on the job. Sprinkler system is working in most areas. Various construction contractors hit our sprinkler lines. All mains are working and only a few more sprinkler heads to replace. Marvin Walkon wants a full and complete update at next meeting regarding the irrigation system. Mayor Kirksey asks"Can we check sprinklers periodically?" Adelard Raby asks about lockout valves on the control boxes. Other questions raised were Who has access to keys, and Who do you call for problems? It is stated that it is a good idea to test sprinklers. Dr. Auth asks"Are Rosedale flowers to be included in irrigation"? John Nagy reports that all dead flowers will be or have been replaced and sprinklers are Cov activated at Rosedale. Dr Auth inquires if the island in Hubbard Road near Bill Brown Ford is included in Phase V. Mr Nagy reported that it is included in Phase V. Mayor Kirksey says Plymouth Road is looking very good. He has received many positive comments on the Lilies, and inquiries as to what kind they are. John Nagy responds they are Dwarf Stella Doro Daylillies. Dr. Auth asked if dead trees East of Middlebelt to Inkster will be replaced. John Nagy responds that East of Middlebelt are out of warranty. Scott Reinholt says that the trees have some scale and borer problems but should survive. Scott Reinholt responds that he has talked to the contractor and the contractor agreed to give these trees added attention. There is hope that they may be fertilized and get better over summer, but if they don't come back in 3 or 4 months, they will be replaced. Trees will be fertilized more frequently. 5. Reports from Committees: Web Committee—Rod Crider asked about maintenance provisions of web contract. John Nagy provided outline of service to be provided for Rod's information and use. Vendor is Stopka and the revised contract terms in outline form was passed out. 3 6. Adjournment: On a motion duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted, the (Pe 126th Regular Meeting held by the Plymouth Road Development Authority on June 21, 2001 was adjourned for the bus tour at 3:20 p.m. 7. At the conclusion of the bus tour, a motion was made by Mayor Kirksey, and seconded by Lowell Peterson to adjourn the meeting of the Plymouth Road Development Authority held on June 21, 2001. The next meeting of the Plymouth Road Development Authority will be held on July 19, 2001 in the 4th Floor Conference Room at City Hall. 1Jaittiu De ie Walter, Secretary
