Robert F. Biga, Human Resources Director, recommended the Commission approve changes
in the qualifications in the promotional examination for Service Representative (Water). These
modifications came about as a result of contract negotiations with Local 192.
Brian Wilson, Superintendent of Public Service, was present to answer any questions about
the request for the Service Representative examination. He explained that the new contract
requires a Group "A" Commercial Drivers License (CDL) for all the drivers. He also slated they
have fewer employees than they used to and they have equipment that the State of Michigan
requires drivers to have the Group "A" license. So in order to do leaf pickup and other
programs, they need the employees to have Group "A" licenses.
