LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION
The 692"d Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third -floor conference room at
City Hall on Thursday, November 14, 2013; it was called to order by Joe Steele.
PRESENT: Commissioners: Kevin Priddy, John Katers, Gordon Draper, Gordon St John, Cindi Quinn-
Vemum and Jim Policelh; City of Livonia Police Officer: Sergeant Joseph Boitos; and City of Livonia
Engineer: Todd Zihncik.
Visitors Attending: Glenn Amhaus, TRW Industries, 12001 Tech Center Drive, Livonia (section 26); Dale
Belsley, TRW, 13191 Wayne Road; Brad Squire, 9900 Berwick, Livonia (section 34).
Chairman's Opening Comments: Joe announced that Sergeant Joseph Bodies is assigned to the Traffic
Commission replacing Sergeant John Gibbs, who retired on November 1, 2013. Sergeant Boitos is the officer in
charge of the Traffic Division.
Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the September 11, 2013, meeting was reviewed.
Upon a motion by Gordon Draper, seconded by John Katers, it was approved by unanimous vote that
13132 RESOLVED the commission minutes from September 11, 2013, are approved as
presented.
Agenda Rem 3: Glenn Ambaus, Director of Facilities for TRW, is requesting installation of crosswalk
markings and pedestrian signage on Tech Center Drive. Early in 2012 and throughout this year, Glenn and
Todd Zihncik have been working to identify the critical crosswalks for TRW. These locations are identified and
need approval. A site plan was presented to discuss the six locations that have been identified and will receive a
12" wide whitt'ladder-style' stripe. Sign identification is as follows:

Upon a motion from Cindi Quinn-Ventum and support from Gordon Draper, it was approved by unanimous
vote that:
13-133 RESOLVED to paint and install, at the above identified locations, crosswalks and signs on
Tech Center Drive (section 26).
Glenn will continue m work with Todd and Sgt. Boitos to coordinate the exact location for crosswalks and
signs.
Agenda Item 2: A visit to city offices and a note with a sketch from Jerome Cousin expressing concern that a
`turnaround' on the boulevard on Farmington Readjust north of Lyndon should be identified as a'No Left
Tum'. He added that this is a safety concern and left turns should not be allowed. A discussion with the
commission supports Jerome's concern.
Upon a motion from Gordon St. John and support from Gordon Draper, it was approved by unanimous vote
that:
13134 RESOLVED that the Traffic Department contact the Wayne County Road Commission for
the proper sign (No Left Turn) at this location.
Anuouncemeutlfuture agenda item:
Brad Squire, 9900 Berwick, section 34, announced that he is now President of his neighborhood association and
would be attending the December meeting with concern and considerations for speed limit signs. Burd has
attended previous meetings (June and July) this year, but not as the association president. Susan Rooke,
President, attended the April 2013 meeting.
RESOLVED: To approve TCO13-10.
RESOLVED: That the meeting be adjourned at 8:40 pm.
