LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION
The 691" Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third -floor conference room at
City Hall on Thursday, September 12, 2013; it was called to order by Joe Steele.
PRESENT: Commissioners: John Katers, Gordon Draper, Gordon St John, Cindi Quinn -Ventura and Jim
Policelh; City of Livonia Police Officer Sergeant John Gibbs.
Visitor Attending: Eric Kuszynsid, 18775 Blue Sides, Livonia (section 7).
Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the August 8, 2013, meeting was reviewed.
Upon a motion by Gordon Draper, seconded by John Eaters, it was approved by unanimous vote that:
13128 RESOLVED the commission minutes from August 8, 2013, are approved as presented.
Agenda Item 2:
Recap: Eric Kuszynslti, 18775 Blue Sides, expressed concern with vehicle parking on Blue Sides Street in
Section 7; the area is from Seven Mile Road to Margareta Drive. Eric agreed to approach each residence to sign
a petition for no parking signs on the street Eric will provide those results to the Commission A the September
12, 2013, meeting.
Update: Eric presented overwhelming corroboration (i.e., signatures from a majority of the neighbors)
supporting no panting signs on the east side of Blue Sides. Upon a motion from Gordon Draper, seconded by
Gordon St. John, it was approved by unanimous vote that:
13129 RESOLVED to install R8-3 "No Parking" signs on the east side of Blue Sides from Seven
Mile Road south to Margareta Drive
Aeenda Item 3
Recap: Sgt. Gibbs informed the commission that the police department received an anonymous letter
expressing concern with excessive speed in Newburgh Village on Newburgh Road, section 30. Sgt Gibbs will
review all senior housing complexes within the city and advise the Commission at the September 12, 2013,
meeting.
Update: Sgt Gibbs informed the commission that no speed limit signs are present in senior housing centers.
Upon a motion from Cindi Quin -Ventura with support from Jim Policelli, it was approved by unanimous vote
that:
13-130 RESOLVED to post 15 mph speed limit signs throughout Newburgh Village and Silver
Village housing centers.
Agenda Item 4: A request from the police department to install a "No Outlet" sign on pounce Street west of
Merriman (section 27). Pamco Street is a very short, low-volume traveled street without an outlet or
throughway. Upon a motion from Gordon St Sohn with support from Gordon Draper, it was approved by
unanimous vote that:
13-131 RESOLVED to install a W14-2 sign ("No Ou0et) on Pamco Street just west of Merriman
Road.
RESOLVED to approve TCO 13-7, TCO 13-8 and TCO 13-9
RESOLVED that the meeting he adjourned at 8:15 pm
