LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMMISSION
The 682ntl Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in the third floor
conference room at City Hall on Thursday, November 8, 2012; it was called to order by
Chairman Joe Steele.
PRESENT: Commissioners: John Katers, Kevin Priddy, Gordon Draper, Gordon St. John and Jim
Policelli, along with Police Officer: Sergeant John Gibbs.
VISITORS ATTENDING: Stephen Mosquera, 34751 Vargo Ave. (section 9) and Joseph Larkin,
16720 Fulton Pines Ct. (section 13), Livonia.
Agenda Item 1: The minutes of the October 11, 2012, meeting was reviewed.
Upon a motion by Gordon Draper, seconded by John Katers, it was approved by unanimous vote
that:
12-106 RESOLVED, the commission minutes from October 11, 2012, are
approved as presented.
Agenda Item 2: Stephen Mosquera requested that no parking signs be removed from the
Sherwood Forest Subdivision (section 9) just east of Stevenson High School. Stephen believes
that changes to the bus route and expansion of the high school parking lot should eliminate the
need for'No Packing on School Days' signs throughout the subdivision. After an open discussion
regarding the value of the subject signs, removal and later reinstall of the same signs and other
local neighborhoods' positions with similar signs, etc., Stephen decided that he would solicit the
neighbors for their input and advise the Commission at a later date.
Non -Agenda Item 3: Joe Larkin requested the removal of a'No Parking' sign at 16720 Fulton
Pines Court (section13). Joe has stated that sufficient space exists for emergency responding
vehicles and cars that may be parked in the cul-de-sac; the City Engineer and Fire Service
personnel confirm this statement. Upon a motion from Gordon St. John, seconded by Gordon
Draper, it was approved by unanimous vote that:
12-107 RESOLVED, a supplement sign (#9506, END) should be added to the last
existing sign (west -side) at 16703 Fulton Pines.
12-108 RESOLVED, that Chairman Joe Steele sign and approve Traffic Control
Orders (TCO) 12-15 and 12-16.
RESOLVED, that the meeting be adjourned at 8:20 pm
