OF THE LIVONIA TRAFFIC COMI4IISSION
The 647ih Regular meeting of the Livonia Traffic Commission was held in
the third floor conference room at City Hall on Thursday June 11, 2009 and
called to order by Chairman Joe Steele.
PRESENT: Commissioners Gordon Draper, Jim Policelli, Kevin Priddy
Cindy Quinn-Ventum, John Katers, Gordon St. John and Sergeant David
Studt. Also in attendance :Charles, Calomeni, 36320 St. Andrews Dr.,

The minutes of the meeting of May 14, 2009 were reviewed.
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Mr., Priddy, and approved, it
was
09-22 RESOLVED, That the commission minutes for May 14, 2009
be approved as presented.
The commission reviewed the request from the Police Department to change
the traffic signal to flashing red at Newburgh and Myrna. Chairman Steele
opened the floor to the residents in attendance regarding this matter. After
much discussion about removing the light, installing a flashing light
updating the light etc., Mr. Priddy suggested getting a quote as to the cost to
bring the light up to date.
Upon a motion by Mr. St. John, seconded by Mr., Policelli, and approved, it
was
09-23 RESOLVED, That the matter of changing the traffic signal at
Newburgh and Myma be postponed until the commission receives all
the necessary information from the Police Department as to whether
funds we available to do these changes at this time.

Sgt. Studt stated a report was received from Engineering which suggests we
keep the NO PARKING signs on Newburgh between Joy Rd. and Eight
Mile Rd. as they we. After further discussion, the following resolution was
made.
Upon a motion by Mr. Priddy, seconded by Mr., St. John, and approved, it
was
09-24 RESOLVED, That the NO PARKING signs on Newburgh Rd,
between Joy Rd, and Eight Mile Rd. be removed.
(Mr. Draper voted NO)
Upon a motion by Mrs.Quinn-Ventura, seconded by Mr., Priddy, and
approved, it was
09-25 RESOLVED,That the commission approves the following
Traffic Control Orders:
Control Order #:09-11 Section: 5 ,6, 7, 8, 17, 18, 19,20,29,30,31 ,32
Post 45 MPH speed limit on Newhurgh from Joy to 8 Mile.
Control Order #09-12 Permanent Section: 22
Install NO STOPPING, STANDING, PARKING SA -SP SCHOOL DAYS on the
west side of Hubbard and on the east side of Brookfield along Kennedy school
properly line.
Upon a motion by Mr. Draper, seconded by Mr., St. John, and approved, it
was
'RESOLVED, that the meeting be adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
