HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL MINUTES 1951-09-17 Page 510 MINUTES OF THE FORTY-NINTH REGULAR MEETING CF THE COUNCIL 07 THE CITY OF LIVONIA On September 17, 1951, above meeting was held at 33110 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order at approximately 804 p m by the President of the Council, Harry S Wolfe Roll was called with the following result Present-- Harry S Wolfe, Raymond E Grimm, Wilson ;s Edgar, Nettie Carey, Harvey Jahn, William Taylor and John '�hitehead Absent. None Minutes of the Forty-Eighth Regular Meeting of the Council held on September 10, 1951, were read and approved Councilman Taylor made a report on bill presented by W B Gale, Inc , Electrical Contractors, for installing five flood lights By Councilman Jahn, seconded by Councilman Grimm and unanimously adopted as follows, it was . 10.5? RESOLVED, that the sum of X3,339 00 be appropriated from the Contingency Fund to be used in installing flood lights near race track entrances and that said amount be considered anadditional appropriation to the Department of Public Works The result of the roll call vote on the foregoing resolution was as follows • AYES: Edgar, Grimm, Jahn, Carey, Whitehead, Taylor & Wolfe NAYS None By Councilman Grimm, seconded by Councilman Taylor and unanimously adopted as follows, it was : f? 659 RESOLVED that, the hour of 8 :30 p m having arrived, the period for receiving bids on the construction of water mains in Livonia Gardens Subdivision ander Special Assessment No 2 be and hereby is declared expired, and the City Clerk is requested to open and read all bids received The Clerk thereupon opened and read the following bids . (1) :.orris-iichelsen Co $27,914 80 (2) United Contracting Co , Inc 32,465 50 (3) Sinacola Contracting Co , Inc 28,073.00 (4) The Boam Company 33,722 50 Each of the above bids was accompanied by a $400 00 deposit By Councilman Jahn, seconded by Councilman Carey and unanimously adopted as follows, it was Page 511 09- 640 RESOLVED, that the t'oregoing bids be referred to the City Engineer for his report and recommendations.
