MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED ONE HUNDRED SECOND REGULAR
MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA
On September 18, 1953, above meeting was held at 33001 Five Mile Road,
Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order at approximately 8:30 P M , by the
President of the Council, Harry S Wolfe Roll was called with the following
result. Present-- Harry S Wolfe, Wilson W Edgar, Harold Bower, John W. White-
head and William Taylor Absent-- Raymond E Grimm and Nettie Carey
President Wolfe stated that pursuant to the provisions of Ordinance
No. 31 of the City of Livonia entitled, "An Ordinance to Provide for the Making
of Public Improvements, Defraying the Expense Thereof by Special Assessment and
a Special Assessment Procedure", and likewise Pursuant to a Notice of Public Hear-
ing duly published and sent to property owners in accordance with Section 12 of
said Ordinance, the City Council was opening a Public Hearing for the purpose of
reviewing the Special Assessment Roll for Sewer Special Assessment District No 4
and for the purpose of considering an;, written objections to such Roll City
Clerk, Marie W Clark, presented to the Council her certificate dated August 26,
1953 to which a copy of such Notice of Public Hearing is attached and which shows
that such Notice was published and sent to all property owners in accordance with
the provisions of Ordinance No 31
President Wolfe then stated that all persons present at such Public
Hearing would be given an opportunity to be heard and asked that each person
desiring to be heard give his name address, and objections or statement concern-
ing the Assessment Roll
The following named persons made statements or objections to the Assess-
ment Roll or to the construction of a Sewer under proposed Special Assessment
District No 4•

further study
By Councilman Taylor, seconded by Councilman Bower and adopted as follows,

# 672 RESOLVED, that, pursuant to the recommendation of the Department
of Public Works dated September14, 1953, the bid of George A. Odien, Inc ,
in the amount of $6,947 00 for construction of Sewage Meter Unit at the
Ford Motor Company Tank Plant, such bid being the lowest bid received is
hereby accepted• that the Layor and City Clerk be authorized to affix
their signatures to a contract on behalf of the City of Livonia in con-
formance with such bid, and that the cost of such Sewage Meter Unit be
paid from the proceeds of bonds sold in City of Livonia Sewage Disposal
System No II

# 673 RESOLVED, that, pursuant to the recommendation of Department
of Public Works dated September 18, 1953, all sealed bids received on
the paving and draining of Amrhein Road be and hereby are rejected, and
the Department of public Works and the City Clerk are requested to
advertise for new bids in conformance with the provisions of the
Financial Ordinance.
On motion of Councilman Bower, seconded by Councilman Whitehead and
unanimousl;, adopted the meeting was adjourned at 10.50 P M , September 18, 1953
