lim MINUTES OF THE TWENTY-EIGHTH SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LTVONIA
On June 6, 1955, the above meeting was held at 33001 Five Mile Road,
Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order at approximately 9:25 P. M., by the
President of the Council, John T. Daugherty. Roll was called with the following
result: Present-- John T. Daugherty, David L. Jones, Harry R. Killam and Rudolf
R. Kleinert. Absent-- John W. Whitehead, Nettie Carey and Wilson W. Edgar.
Councilman Carey waived her right to notice of special meetings, by
letter dated June 3, 1955.
Mr. Louis A. Veenstra, representing George Jerome & Company, consulting
engineers, presented final plans for the construction of Contract Sewers in the
City of Livonia, for Council approval.
Letters were read from George Jerome & Company, consulting engineers, dated
June 4, 1955, and W. R. McCary, City itingineer„ dated June 6, 1955.
By Councilman Kleinert, seconded by Councilman Jones, it was
#299-55 RESOLVED, that
WHEREAS, the County of Wayne and the City of Livonia have,
pursuant to the provisions of Act 342, Public Acts of 1939, as amended,
entered into a contract for the acquisition, construction and financing
of certain sewers as part of the Wayne County Metropolitan Sewage System,
which sewers are located within the limits of the City of Livonia in the
Central and Northeast portions of the City and are essential to the public
health of the City and the metropolitan area, and
WHEREAS, George Jerome & Company, consulting engineers, have
submitted final plans and specifications for such sewers and sewer im-
provement, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for said final plans and specifica-
tions to be officially approved by the City Council of the City of
Livonia,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the plans and specifica-
tions for said sewer improvements be and the same hereby are approved
Im. and confirmed and the consulting engineer and the Board of County Road
Commissioners, as the official agency of the County of Wayne, are
authorized to take the necessary steps pursuant to the contract for
the construction of said sewers and the financing thereof,

iimAND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and City Clerk are
hereby authorized to affix their signatures to the cover sheets of
Sections 1 through 5 of the Construction Plans for the Contract Sewers.
A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result:
AYES: Jones, Killam, Kleinert and Daugherty.
NAYS: None.
On motion of Councilman Kleinert, seconded by Councilman Jones and unan-
imously adopted, this 28th special meeting of the City Council was duly adjourned
at 9:42 P. M., June 6, 1955.
