The Public Hearing for the purpose of determining whether or not to
install road drainage improvements on Fairfield Avenue from Six Mile Road
north to Curtis Avenue, in Section 10, City of Livonia, was called to order
at 8:35 P. M., December 5, 1957, at the City Hall, 33001 Five Pale Road. The
following members of the Council wore present: Austin T. Grant, Frank O'Neill,
Sydney B. Bagnall, Rudolf R. Kleinert, Peter A. Ventura and John T. Daugherty.
Absent: David L. Jones. Also present were David F. Meinzinger, Director of
Public Works, and LaVern R. Schrader, Assistant City Engineer.
The President stated that the City Clerk has mailed notices to those
persons owning land in the proposed Special Assessment District by first class
mail under da te of November 21, 1951, and that all other requirements of
Ordinance No. 31, entitled "An Ordinance to Provide for the Making of Public
Improvements, Defraying the Expense Thereof by Special Assessment and a Special
Assessment Procedure", as amended, have been fulfilled; therefore the Public
Hearing was declared open for comments.
The President reviewed the estimate of the total cost of the project
as submitted by the Director of Public Jorks and the Assistant City Engineer
under date of November 1, 1957.
Statements by interested parties present were heard and given due
consideration by the Council, a transcript of which is on file in the office of
the City Clerk.
Upon motion by Councilman Ventura, seconded by Councilman Bagnall,
and unanimously adopted, it was moved that the public hearing be closed.
The President declared the Public Hearing duly adjourned at 8:50 p. m.
December 5, 1957.
