HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOUNCIL MINUTES 1970-02-14 SPECIAL 11160 MINUTES OF THE ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-SEVENTH SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA Pursuant to the provisions of Section 8, Chapter IV of the City Charter, the above meeting was held February 14, 1970, at the City Hall, 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President of the Council at approx- imately 2.05 P. M.. Roll was called with the following result: Present--Edward H. McNamara, Robert E. McCann, Peter A. Ventura, Edward G. Milligan, Robert F. Nash and Jerry Raymond. Absent--Rudolf R. Kleinert. Elected and appointed officials present: Addison W. Bacon, City Clerk, and Harry C. Tatigian, City Attorney. Councilman McCann gave first reading to the following Ordinance: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17 OF THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA AND AMENDING ARTICLE III OF ORDINANCE NO. 543, AS AMENDED, KNOWN AND CITED AS THE "CITY OF LIVONIA ZONING ORDINANCE," BY ADDING SECTION 3. THERETO. RE: PETITION NO. 67-7-1-27 FOR CHANGE OF ZONING FROM C-2 TO R-3-B. The foregrdng Ordinance, when adopted, is filed in the Journal of Ordinances in the office of the City Clerk, and is the same as if word for word repeated herein. Councilman McCann invoked the Emergency Clause and gave second reading to the foregoing Ordinance and a roll call vote was taken thereon with the following result: AYES: Ventura, Raymond, McCann, Nash, Milligan and McNamara. NAYS: None. The President declared the foregoing Ordinance duly adopted, and would become effective on publication. At 2:20 p.m., and at 2:50 p.m., a recess was called, after which the meeting resumed with all members present who were named as present in the original roll call of this meeting. 11161 By Councilman Ventura, seconded by Councilman Raymond, it was #138-70 RESOLVED, that the Council, in accordance with the provisions set forth in Article XXIII of the Zoning Ordinance No. 543, as amended, Section 23.01(a), the Council on its own motion does hereby request that the City Planning Commission hold a Public Hearing for the purpose of considering the rezoning of a portion of Parcel 17F2 located East of Newburgh Road, south of Six Mile Road, in Section 17, to the C-1 zoning classification. A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result: AYES: Ventura, Raymond, McCann, Nash, Milligan and McNamara. NAYS: None. By Councilman Ventura, seconded by Councilman Milligan, it was #139-70 RESOLVED, that the Council, in accordance with the provisions set forth in Article XXIII of the Zoning Ordinance, Ordinance No. 543, as amended, Section 23.01(a), the Council on its own motion does hereby request that the City Planning Commission hold a Public Hearing for the purpose of considering the rezoning of the Northeast corner of Newburgh and Six Mile Roads, from C-2 to C-1. A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result: AYES: Ventura, Raymond, McCann, Nash, Milligan and McNamara. NAYS: None. By Councilman Nash, seconded by Councilman McCann, and unanimously adopted, this 127th special meeting of the Council of the City of Livonia was duly adjourned at 3:15 P.
