MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON VARIOUS ZONING PETITIONS
Oa September 25, 1972, the above hearing was held at the City Hall,
33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the
President of the Council at 8:11 P. M. Present: Robert F. Nash, Edward G.
Milligan, Robert E. McCann, Robert D. Bennett, Jerry Brown, and Jerry Raymond.
Absent: Peter A. Ventura.
Pursuant to Section 23.06 of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance,
the City Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen (15) days prior
to the hearing date to those persons in the area affected by the proposed
change and all other requirements of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance,
have been fulfilled.
The President stated that in accordance with the provisions set
forth in Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1921, as
amended, the Zoning Act (M.S.A. Section 5.2934), as well as Article XXIII of
Ordinance 543, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of the
City of Livonia is holding a public hearing relative to a request for a change
in the Zoning Ordinance.
Petition No. 72-5-1-26 submitted by the City Planning Commission on
its own motion to rezone lands owned by the Livonia Public Schools and/or City
of Livonia located in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 3, from R-3A, (one family
residential), RUF-B (rural urban farm) and R-1 (one family residential ) to the
Public Land (PL) classification.
Petition No. 71-2-1-5 submitted by Edmund T. Warren, 7-159 General
Motors Building, Detroit, Michigan 48202, for a change of zoning of property
located west of Newburgh Road between Plymouth Road and Amrhein Road in the
Southeast 1/4 of Section 30, from RUF (rural urban farm) to M-1 (light
manufacturing).

Petition No. 72-5-1-25 submitted by the City Planning Commission on
its own motion to rezone lands owned by the Livonia Public Schools and/or City
of Livonia located in the Northeast 1/4 of Section 2, from RUF-A, (rural urban
farm), R-1 (one family residential), and R-3-A (one family residential), to the
Public Land (PL) classification.
Petition No. 72-1-1-2 submitted by the City Planning Commission on
its own motion to rezone lands owned by the Livonia Public Schools and/or City
of Livonia located in Section 1, from RUF (rural urban farm) to the Public Land
(PL) classification.
Petition No. 72-3-1-17 submitted by Nicholas George, Nicholas George
Theatres, 6621 Allen Road, Allen Park, Michigan, for a change of zoning of
property located on the east side of Farmington Road, north of Plymouth Road in
the Southwest 1/4 of Section 27, from M-1 (light manufacturing) to C-2 (General
Business).
Petition No. 72-1-1-8 submitted by William Ponder, Attorney, 32510
Plymouth Road, Livonia, Michigan, for a change of zoning of property located on
the east side of Stark Road, south of Plymouth Road in the Northeast 1/4 of
Section 33, from RUF (rural urban farm) to R-7 (multiple family residential).
The Public Hearing was declared closed at 9:24 P. M., September 25,
1972.
