MINUTES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FORTY-SIXTH SPECIAL MEETING
OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA
Pursuant to the provisions of Section 8, Chapter IV of the City Charter,
the above meeting was held December 4, 1972, at the City Hall, 33001 Five Mile Road,
Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President of the Council at approx-
imately 10:00 P. M.. Roll was called with the following result: Present--Robert F.
Nash, Jerry H. Brown, Peter A. Ventura, Jerry Raymond, Edward G. Milligan, Robert E.
McCann and Robert D. Bennett. Absent--None.
Elected and appointed officials present: Edward H. McNamara, Mayor;
Addison W. Bacon, City Clerk; Harry C. Tatigian, City Attorney; G. E. Siemert, City
Engineer, John Nagy, City Planner; Frank Kerby, Chief Building Inspector; and Jack
Dodge, Budget Director.
By Councilman McCann, seconded by Councilman Raymond, it was
#1076-72 RESOLVED, that having considered the report and recommendation of
the Finance and Insurance Committee, dated December 4, 1972, the Council
does hereby determine to accept and award bids for the City's various
insurance coverages for the period December 1, 1972 to November 30, 1975,
inclusive, as follows:

The total bid sum of the foregoing being in the amount of $154 ,963.00
covering either the total annual cost of the coverages or initial premium
deposits subject to annual audits and the same having met the specifica-
tions in each and every respect; provided, however, that with respect to
Items 1 through 8 above, the same are awarded on a "package" bid basis
and upon the condition that cancellation by either party on these items
can only be made on a "package" basis with no right to cancel individual
or separate items of the coverage, and so as to provide that in the event
of cancellation the City shall be reimbursed by the bidder on a pro-rata
basis (with no penalty) and not a short-rate basis; and the Council does
hereby authorize and request the City Clerk, City Treasurer, and Budget
Director to do all things necessary and incidental to fulfill the purpose
of this resolution.
A roll call vote was taken on the foregoing resolution with the following result:
AYES: Raymond, Milligan, McCann, Bennett, Brown, Ventura and Nash.
NAYS: None.
By Councilman Bennett, seconded by Councilman Brown, and unanimously
adopted, this 146th special meeting of the Council of the City of Livonia, was duly
adjourned at 10:05 P. M., December 4, 1972.
