MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ZONING PETITIONS
On September 9, 1974, the above hearing was held at the City Hall,
33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the
President at 815 P. M Present Robert F. Nash, Jerry Brown, Robert E.
McCann, Robert D Bennett, Robert R. Bishop, Peter A Ventura and Jerry
Raymond.
Pursuant to Section 23.06 of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning
Ordinance, the City Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen
(15) days prior to the hearing date to those persons in the area affected
by the proposed change and all other requirements of Ordinance No. 543, the
Zoning Ordinance, have been fulfilled.
The President stated that in accordance with the provisions set
forth in Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1921, as
amended, the Zoning Act (M S.A. Section 5.293)4), as well as Article XXIII of
Ordinance 543, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of
the City of Livonia is holding a public hearing relative to a request for
a change in the Zoning Ordinance.
Petition No. 71-8-1-51 submitted by Robert C. Horvath, and as
amended by Robert C Horvath, pursuant to a letter dated March 7, 1974, for
a change of zoning of property located south of Eight Mile Road between
Farmington Road and Gill Road in the Northeast 1/4 of Section 4, from RUF
to R-8 and R-3 (Rural Urban Farm District to High Rise Multiple Family
Residential and One Family Residential).
Petition No. 74-3-1-6 submitted by T Rogvoy Associates, Inc. , for
the Terrace Theater Company for a change of zoning on property located on the
north side of Plymouth Road between Middlebelt and Merriman Road in the
Southwest 1/4 of Section 26, from M-1 to C-2 (Light Manufacturing to General
Business Districts) .

Petition No. 74-3-1-7 submitted by Hillary W. and Margaret
McLeod for a change of zoning on property located on the east side of
Laurel, south of Seven Mile Road in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 9,
from R-3 to RUF (One Family Residential to Rural Urban Farm Districts)
Petition No. 74-4-6-1 submitted by the City Planning Commission
on its own motion to amend Section 2.10, Definitions of Miscellaneous
Terms, paragraph (15) Sign, of Ordinance No 543, the Zoning Ordinance
of the City of Livonia, for the purpose of clarification.
Petition No. 74-5-1-10 submitted by the City Planning
Commission on its own motion for a change of zoning for property located
between Six and Seven Mile Roads and Brookfield and Merriman Roads in
Section 10 from RUF to PL (Rural Urban Farm to Public Land Districts)
Petition No. 74-5-1-11 submitted by the City Planning Commission
on its own motion for a change of zoning of property located south of
Plymouth Road between Farmington Road and. Loveland in the Northwest 1/4
of Section 34 from R-1 and R-7 to PL (One Family Residential and Multiple
Family Residential Districts to Public Land) .
Petition No. 74-2-1-5 submitted by Marathon Oil Company for a
change of zoning of property located in the northeast corner of Plymouth
and Newburgh Roads in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 29, from C-1 to C-3
(Local Business to Highway Services Districts)
Petition No. 74-5-1-12 submitted by Radnothy, Taylor, Schanz
and Tower for a change of zoning of property located at the Southwest
corner of West Chicago and Houghton in the Southeast 1/4 of Section 31,
from C-1 to P.S. and R-1 to P (Local Business to Professional Service and
One Family Residential to Parking) .
The Public Hearing was declared closed at 10 35 P. M. ,
September 9, 1974.
