Home My WebLink AboutELEC COMM 1978-03-03 MINUTES OF MEETING ELECTION COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA A meeting of the Election Commission of the City of Livonia was held on March 3, 1978 at the Livonia City Hall at 33001 Five Mile Road at approximately 10 40 A. M., at which time and place the following members of said Commission were present Edward H. McNamara, Mayor Addison W. Bacon, City Clerk Pursuant to Section 5, Chapter III of the Charter of the City of Livonia, City Clerk Addison W. Bacon presided over the meeting as Chairman of the Commission. Upon a motion by Commissioner McNamara, supported by Commissioner Bacon, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that the minutes of the meeting of October 10, 1977, be approved as submitted. Upon a motion by Commissioner McNamara, supported by Commissioner Bacon, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that the Election Inspectors listed on the schedule attached hereto, and made a part of these minutes, are duly appointed to the City Election Boards for the Special City Election to be held on April 11, 1978 to approve the renewal of an Irrevocable Franchise to the Detroit Edison Company and an amendment to the City Charter so as to provide for a four year term for the Mayor. Upon a motion by Commissioner McNamara, supported by Commissioner Bacon, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that the compensation for the day of April 11, 1978 be $36.00 for Inspectors, 544.00 for Chairmen, and further, that each appointed member required to attend an instruction meeting be reimbursed at the rate of S5.00 per meeting Upon a motion by Commissioner McNamara, supported by Commissioner Bacon, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that one (1) absent voter counting board be establishedto be identified. as Counting Board "1" and that said board be located in the Senior Citizens Activity Building, 15219 Farmington Road, for the purpose of tallying Absent Voter Ballots as required by law. There being no further business to come before the Commission, the Chairman declared the meeting adjourned at approximately 10 55 A.M. Addison W.
