HomeMy WebLinkAboutELEC COMM 1968-01-22 (2) MINUTES OF MEETING OF ELECTION COMMISSION OF CITY OF LIVONIA JANUARY 22, 1968 ~~� A meeting of the Election Commission of the City of Livonia was held on January 22, 1968 at the Livonia City Hall at approximately 9 25 A M , at which time and place the following members of said commission were present Harvey W Moelke Mayor Steve Polgar City Attorney Addison W. Bacon City Clerk Pursuant to Section 5, Chapter III of the Charter of the City of Livonia, City Clerk, Addison W Bacon presided over the meeting as Chairman of the Commission. The Chairman stated that the meeting was called for purpose of acting on request of candidates for ballot designations at the City Primary Election of February 19, 1968 Requests for such designations were received from John J McCann, Robert E McCann, and Addison W Bacon �-_ Mr. Polgar summarized the appropriate election stautes pertaining to designa- tions and advised the Commission as to the alternates available to it where identical or similar surnames are involved. After discussion and on a motion by Commissioner Polgar, supported by Commissioner Moelke, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that the designation "Livonia School Principal", on the ballot of February 19, 1968` be granted to Robert E. McCann, as requested On a motion by Commissioner Polgar, supported by Commissioner Moelke, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that the designation "Attorney at Laa'" on the ballot of February 19, 1968, be granted to John J McCann, as requested Discussion was held concerning the request of Addison W Bacon, and Mr. Bacon being a member of the Commission, abstained from the discussion and indicated his intention to abstain from the voting On a motion by Commissioner Polgar, supported by Commissioner Moelke, with � Commissioner Bacon abstaining, it was RESOLVED, that the designation ''City Clerk" on the ballot of February 19, 1968, be granted Addison W Bacon, as requested Upon a motion by Commissioner Polgar, seconded by Commissioner Moelke, and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that this meeting stand adjourned at approximately 9 35 A M.
