HomeMy WebLinkAboutELEC COMM 1964-03-17 MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE ELECTION COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA March 17, 1964 An adjourned meeting of the Election Commission of the City of Livonia was held on Tuesday, March 17, 1964, at 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, at approximately 3:20 P. M., at which time and place the following members of said Commission: Harvey W. Moelke, Mayor Alan Walt, City Attorney were present. Absent, City Clerk Marie W. Clark, Chairman. The City Attorney, acting as Chairman, stated that this meeting is a continu- ation of yesterday's meeting, which was adjourned for the purpose of further consid- eration of appointment of election inspectors and alternate inspectors, and for certain other matters discussed yesterday and placed in the minutes. On motion by Harvey W. Moelke, seconded by Alan Walt and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED, that Gloria Parker, of 17603 Dolores (R) is hereby appointed as election inspector, to be placed on any precinct board at the discretion of the City Clerk; and that some inspector who was not appointed within the last two years be removed from the board by the City Clerk; Further, that the following are hereby appointed as Alternate Inspectors to be called by the City Clerk in the event any of the previously appointed inspectors are unable to serve, the appointment of the Alternate Inspectors to be made as required; Patricia J. Krause D 35738 Minton Sue Kriszenfeld D 19326 Rensellor Fayanne Sands D 20321 Kentwood Lorraine Talbot R 35146 Wood Drive Rose Ann Webb D 16902 Whitby Drive and it is Further RESOLVED, that said boards of election inspectors as above constituted shall, on members thereof taking and subscribing the consti- tutional oath of office, have all powers and duties provided by law as boards of election inspectors at the Regular City Election of April 6, 1964; and that the salaries for the inspectors of election who will serve on April 6, 1964, be as follows: Chairmen $24.00 Inspectors $20.00 On motion by Alan Walt, seconded by Harvey W. Moelke and unanimously adopted, it was RESOLVED that, a meeting be held with all members of this Commission as early as possible for the purpose of approving the ballot to be placed on the machines at the general election April 6, 1964, and the rotation of candidates thereon, as well as the instruction ballot, and further, that the Chairman of this Commission, in her capacity as City Clerk, inform the Commission when the voting machines will be available for inspection by the Commission, and that pending such meeting at which such information is given the Commission, no further action be taken on these matters by the City Clerk.
