HomeMy WebLinkAboutELEC COMM 1959-01-22 MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE ELECTION COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA January 22, 1959 A meeting of the Election Commission of the City of Livonia was held on Thursday, January 22, 1959, at 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, at approximately 9:12 A. M., at which time and place all of the members of said Commission: William W. Brashear - Mayor Marie W. Clark - City Clerk William N. Ponder - City Attorney were present. Pursuant to Section 5, Chapter III of the Charter, the City Clerk presided over the meeting as Chairman of the Commission. Careful consideration was given to the matter of appointing a board of inspectors of election for each election precinct of the City, pursuant to Act #271 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1955, as amended, to function as such at the Biennial Spring Primary and Special City Election to be held February 16, 1959. On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried by the affirmative vote of all three members of the Commission, it was RESOLVED that, the following respective persons are hereby appointed members of the following respective election precincts of the City of Livonia: Pct. #1 Chm. Plant D 9851 Doris FURTHER RESOLVED that, said boards of election inspectors as above constituted shall, on members thereof taking and subscribing the constitutional oath of office,have all powers and duties provided by law as boards of election inspectors at the Biennial Spring Primary and Special City Election of February 16, 1959; and that the salaries for the inspectors of election who will serve on February 16, 1959, be as follows: Chairmen, $20.00 Inspectors, $18.00 There being no further business to come before the commission, on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at approximately 9:20 A.
