THE WHOLE HELD JUNE 2, 1952
The above meeting was held at the Court Building, 33211 W. Seven Mile Road,
Livonia, Michigan, and commenced at approximately 8:12 P. M. The meeting was presided
over by William Taylor, who was designated as Chairman by President Wolfe. Roll
was called with the following result: Present-- Harry S. Wolfe, Wilson W. Edgar,
Nettie Carey, William Taylor and John Whitehead. Absent-- Raymond E. Grimm and
Harvey Jahn.
Ralph R. Calder, architect, was present and presented suggestions as to
revisions in the plans and specifications for the new city hall. The committee,
with the consent of all members present, agreed on the changes and revisions in such
plans and requested Mr. Calder to prepare and submit the revised plans and specifications
at the next regular meeting of the Council.
Councilman Edgar made a motion, which was seconded by Councilrna.n Carey and
unanimously adopted as follows:
RESOLVED, that the Committee of the Whole recommends to the
Council that an ordinance be adopted providing for the issuance of
permits to carnivals by the City Clerk on approval of the Chief of
Police and Bureau of Inspection and that, pending adoption of such
ordinance, the City Clerk be authorized to issue such permits on
approval of the Police Chief and Building Inspector.
Clarence Hoffman appeared before the Committee of the Whole and discussed
a proposed park site.
On motion of Councilman Wolfe, seconded by Councilman Whitehead and
unanimously passed, the meeting was adjourned at 11:10 P. M., June 2, 1952.
