MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ZONING PETITIONS
On June 19, 1978, the above hearing was held at the City Hall, 33001
Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President of the
Council at 8 31 P. M. Present: Robert E McCann, Jerry H Brown, Jerry Raymond,
Robert D. Bennett and Robert R. Bishop. Absent--Robert F Nash and Peter A.
Ventura.
Pursuant to Section 23.06 of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance, the
City Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen (15) days prior to the
hearing date to those persons in the area affected by the proposed change and all
other requirements of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance, have been fulfilled.
The President stated that in accordance with the provisions set forth in
Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1921, as amended, the Zoning
Act (M.S.A. Section 5.2934) , as well as Article XXIII of Ordinance 543, the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of the City of Livonia is holding a
public hearing relative to a request for a change in the Zoning Ordinance.
Petition No. 78-1-1-4 submitted by the City Planning Commission on its own
motion for a change of zoning of property located on the north side of Curtis Avenue,
east of Golfview in the Northeast 1/4 of Section 8, from R-3B and R-4B to P.L. (One
Family Residential to Public Lands) .
Petition No. 78-1-1-5 submitted by the City Planning Commission on its own
motion for a change of zoning of property located north of Curtis Road, west of Comstock
in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 8 from R-4B to P.L (One Family Residential to Public
Lands) .
Petition No. 78-1-1-8 submitted by the City Planning Commission on its own
motion for a change of zoning of property located on the east side of Newburgh Road,
south of the 1-96 Freeway in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 29, from M-1 to M-2 (Light
Manufacturing to General Manufacturing) .
Petition No. 78-1-1-9 submitted by the City Planning Commission for a change
of zoning of property located on the west side of Levan Road, south of the 1-96 Freeway
in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 29, from M-1 to M-2 (Light Manufacturing to General
Manufacturing) .

motion for a change of zoning of property located east of Newburgh Road between Curtis

and Gardner in the West 1/2 of Section 8, from R-3B, R-48 and P.L. to R-4B and P.L

Petition No. 78-2-6-5 submitted by the City Planning Commission on its awn
motion to amend Section 10,03, Waiver Uses within the C-1 Zoning District (Local
Business District) , by adding paragraph (h) to establish controls for buildings of
30,000 square feet or more.
The Public Hearing was declared closed at 9 17 P. M. , June 19, 1978.
