MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ZONING PETITIONS
On September 8, 1980, the above hearing was held at the City Hall, 33000
Civic Center Drive, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President of
the Council at 8.03 P. M. Present . Robert D. Bennett, Robert F. Nash, Gerald Taylor,
Alice Gundersen, Robert R. Bishop, Robert E. McCann and Peter A. Ventura.
Pursuant to Section 23.06 of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance, the
City Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen (15) days prior to the
hearing date to those persons in the area, affected by the proposed change and all
other requirements of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance, have been fulfilled.
The President stated that in accordance with the provisions set forth in
Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1921, as amended, the Zoning
Act (M.S.A. Section 5.2934), as well as Article XXIII of Ordinance 543, the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of the City of Livonia is holding a
public hearing relative to a request for a change in the Zoning Ordinance.
Petition No. 80-5-1-17 submitted by the Livonia Public Schools for a change of
zoning of property located on the southeast corner of Fairfield and Orangelawn Avenue
in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 34, from P.L. to R-1 (Public lands to One Family
Residential).
Petition No. 80-5-6-7 submitted by the City Planning Commission, pursuant to
Council Resolution 408-80, to amend Section 11.03 of the Zoning Ordinance to provide
regulations to control theaters and the division of screens in theaters in the C-2
Zoning District.
Petition No. 80-1-6-1 submitted by the City Planning Commission to amend
Section 23.07 of Ordinance #543, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, to
establish new regulations concerning the effect of protests to proposed amendments.
The Public Hearing was declared closed at 9.11 P.M.,(Septe,c•er 8, 1980.
