MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ZONING PETITIONS
On September 16, 1985, the above hearing was held at the City Hall,
33000 Civic Center Drive, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the
President of the Council at 8 21 P.M. Present• Robert R. Bishop, Robert E.
McCann, Fernon P. Feenstra, Alice Gundersen, Gerald Taylor, Robert D. Bennett
and Peter A. Ventura. Absent None.
Pursuant to Section 23.06 of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance,
the City Clerk has duly mailed and published notices fifteen (15) days prior to
the hearing date to those persons in the area affected by the proposed change
and all other requirements of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance, have been
fulfilled.
The President stated that in accordance with the provisions set forth
in Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1921, as amended, the
Zoning Act (M.S.A. Section 5.2934,M.C.L.A. 125.584), as well as Article XXIII of
Ordinance 543, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of the
City of Livonia is holding a public hearing relative to a request for a change of
the Zoning Ordinance.
Petition No. 85-5-1-15 submitted by Richard Gallagher for a change of
zoning of property located on the east side of Stark Road between Capitol and Beacon
Road in the South 1/2 of Section 28 from R-5 to M-1 (One Family Residential - 100'
x 150' to Light Manufacturing).
Petition 85-6-1-16 submitted by Lambros Stassinos for a change of zoning
of property located on the southeast corner of Schoolcraft Service Drive and Eckles
Road in the Southwest1/4 of Section 19 from C-2 to M-1 (General Business to Light
Manufacturing).
Petition 85-6-1-17 submitted by Jack Akey for a change of zoning of property
located on the east side of Middlebelt Road, south of Terrence in the Northwest 1/4 of
Section 13 from P.S. to C-2 (Professional Service to General Business).
Petition 85-6-6-2 submitted by the City Planning Commission on its own motion
to amend Section 18.51 of Zoning Ordinance 543, by revising the definition of abandoned
vehicles.
There were approximately thirty people present.

Questions and comments from interested persons were given due considera-
tion by the Council, a transcript of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk.
The Public Hearing was declared closed at 9.16 P.M. , September 16, 1985.
