MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ZONING PETITIONS
On July 23, 1990, the above hearing was held at the City
Hall, 33000 Civic Center Drive, Livonia, Michigan, and was called
to order by the President of the Council at 7:33 p.m. Present:
Joan McCotter, Gerald Taylor, Dale Jurcisin, Ron Ochala, Fernon P.
Feenstra and Robert R. Bishop. Absent: Laura Toy.
Pursuant to Section 23.06 of Ordinance No. 543, the
Zoning Ordinance, the City Clerk has duly published and mailed
notices fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing date to those
persons in the area affected by the proposed change and all other
requirements of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance, have been
fulfilled.
tiamThe President stated that in accordance with the
provisions set forth in Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of
Michigan of 1921, as amended, the Zoning Act (M.S.A. Section
5.2934; M.C.L.A. 125.584), as well as Article XXIII of Ordinance
543, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of
the City of Livonia is holding a public hearing relative to a
request for a change of the Zoning Ordinance.
Petition 90-3-1-5, submitted by Mid-Plaza Associates for a change of
zoning of property located on the east side of Middlebelt Road between
Joy Road and Grandon Avenue in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 36, from P.S.
to C-1, (Professional Service to Local Business), the City Planning
Commission in its resolution 5-352-90 having recommended to the City
Council that Petition 90-3-1-5 be approved.
Petition 90-3-1-6, submitted by the City Planning Commission for
a change of zoning of property located on the north side of Ann Arbor
lbw Trail between Newburgh Road and Horton Avenue in the Northeast 1/4 of
Section 31 from C-1 to R-1 (Local Business to One Family Residential
60'x 120' lot), the City Planning Commission in its resolution 5-341-90
having recommended to the City Council that Petition 90-3-1-6 be
approved.

Petition 90-3-1-7. submitted by the City Planning Commission for a change
zoning of property located west of Newburgh Road between Plymouth Road
and Edward Hines Drive in the Southeast 1/4 of Section 30 from C-2 to
P.S. (General Business to Professional Service), the City Planning
Commission in its resolution 5-342-90 having recommended to the City
Council that Petition 90-3-1-7 be approved.
Petition 90-3-1-9, submitted by Rupp Construction, Inc. for a change
of zoning of property located on the west side of Inkster Road between
Capitol Avenue and Grantland Avenue in the Southeast 1/4 of Section 25
from P to R-1 (Parking to One Family Residential), the City Planning
Commission in its resolution 5-343-90 having recommended to the City
Council that Petition 90-3-1-9 be approved.
Petition 90-4-1-10, submitted by Desrosiers Architects for Jose and
Stella Evangelista for a change of zoning of property located on the west
side of Farmington Road between Plymouth Road and Orangelawn Avenue in
the Northeast 1/4 of Section 33 from RUF to R-C (Rural Urban Farm 1/2
acre to Condominium Residential) the City Planning Commission in its
resolution 5-344-90 having recommended to the City Council that
Petition 90-4-1-10 be denied.
Petition 90-4-1-12, submitted by Angelo D'Orazio for a change of zoning
of property located on the south side of Seven Mile Road between Whitby
and Myron Streets in the Northeast 1/4 of Section 9 from C-1 to C-2,
(Local Business to General Business) the City Planning Commission in
its resolution 5-345-90 having recommended to the City Council that
Petition 90-4-1-12 be denied.
There were approximately 12 persons present.
Questions and comments from interested persons were given
due consideration by the Council, a transcript of which is on file
in the office of the City Clerk
The Public Hearing was declared closed at 8:57 p m.
