MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ZONING PETITION

On February 13, 1991, the above hearing was held at the City
Hall, 33000 Civic Center Drive, Livonia, Michigan, and was called
to order by the President of the Council at 7:34 P.M. Present:
Fernon P. Feenstra, Robert R. Bishop, Gerald Taylor, Dale
Jurcisin and Joan McCotter. Absent: Ron Ochala and Laura Toy.
Pursuant to Section 23 06 of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning
Ordinance, the City Clerk has duly published and mailed notices
fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing date to those persons in the
area affected by the proposed change and all other requirements of
Ordinance No 543, the Zoning Ordinance, have been fulfilled
The president stated that in accordance with the provisions
lbw set forth in Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan
1921, as amended, the Zoning Act (M S.A. Section 5 2934; M C.L A.
125.584), as well as Article XXIII of Ordinance 543, the Zoning
Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of the City of
Livonia is holding a public hearing relative to a request for a
change of the Zoning Ordinance.
Petition 90-10-1-24, submitted by The Felician Sisters, O.S.F.
for a change of zoning on property located on the west side of
Levan Road between Five Mile and Schoolcraft Roads in the West 1/2
of Section 20, from RUF to R-9 (Rural Urban Farm-One Family Resi-
dential to Housing for Elderly)
Petition 90-10-1-26, submitted by the City Planning Commission
for a change of zoning on property located at the northeast corner
of Clarita and Melvin Avenues in the N E 1/4 of Section 11 from
R-7 to R-C (multiple family residential to condominium
residential) .
Petition 90-10-1-27, submitted by L & J Schmier Management and
Investment Co. for a change of zoning on property located on the
west side of Inkster Road between Joy Road and West Chicago in the
S.E. 1/4 of Section 36 from R-9 and RUF to R-1 (housing for elderly
and rural urban farm-one family residential to one family residen-
tial-60' X 120' lot).

ImoPetition 90-9-6-7, submitted by the City Planning Commission
to determine whether to amend Section 11.03 of the Zoning Ordinance
so as to provide for more standards regarding outdoor sales of
plants and garden supplies.
There were approximately thirty-five people present.
Questions and comments from interested persons were given due
consideration by the Council, a transcript of which is on file in
the office of the City Clerk.
The Public Hearing was declared closed at 8:17 P M , February
13, 1991.
