MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON REZONING
On August 14, 1996, the above hearing was held at the City Hall, 33000 Civic
Center Drive, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by President Laura at 9 06
p m Present: Brian Duggan, Fernon P Feenstra, Maureen Miller Brosnan, Val
Vandersloot, Michael P McGee, Gerald D Taylor and Joe Laura. Absent: None
Pursuant to Section 23 06 of Ordinance 543, the Zoning Ordinance, the City
Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing date
to those persons in the area affected by the proposed change and all other
requirements of Ordinance No 543, the Zoning Ordinance, have been fulfilled
The President stated that in accordance with the provisions set forth in Section
4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan 1921, as amended, the Zoning Act (M.S.A.
Section 5.2934, M C L.A. 125 584), as well as Article XXIII of Ordinance 543, the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of the City of Livonia is holding a
public hearing relative to a request for a change of the Zoning Ordinance
Petition 96-2-1-4 by the City Planning Commission, pursuant to
CR 838-95, proposing to rezone property in the Dohany Subdivision
located south of Seven Mile Road between Gillman and Harrison
Avenues in the N E. 1/4 of Section 12 from RUE (Rural Urban Farm -
1/2 Acre Lots) to R-1 (One Family Residential - 60' x 120' Lots)
Petition 96-3-1-7 by Robert Lewis (Winter Garden Bar) requesting to
rezone property located on the west side of Westmore Avenue, north
of Seven Mile Road in the S W 1/4 of Section 3, from R-1 (One
Family Residential - 60' x 120' Lots) to P (Parking)
Petition 96-2-6-1 by the City Planning Commission to determine whether
or not to amend Section 18 50D (Permitted Signs) of Article XVIII
(Supplementary Regulations) of Zoning Ordinance No 543, as amended,
with regard to real estate signs.

Petition 96-2-6-2 by the City Planning Commission, pursuant to CR 376-95,
to determine whether a possible amendment to Section 2 10(4) of Zoning
Ordinance No 543 shall be made to increase the square footage of attached
garages to 900 square feet without accessory buildings, with a limit of vehicle
openings to three, with the provisions regarding detached garages and lot
coverage percent (including front yards, side yards and read yards) to remain
as is
There were 33 persons present.
Questions and comments from interested persons were given due consideration
by the Council, a transcript of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk.
The Public Hearing was declared closed at 10.22 p m , August 14, 1996
