MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON REZONING
On October 13, 1997, the above hearing was held at the City Hall, 33000 Civic
Center Drive, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by President Laura at 7 14
p m. Present: Gerald D Taylor, Brian Duggan, Fernon P Feenstra, Maureen Miller
Brosnan, Val Vandersloot, Michael P McGee and Joe Laura. Absent: None
Pursuant to Section 23 06 of Ordinance 543, the Zoning Ordinance, the City
Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen (15) days prior to the hearing date
to those persons in the area affected by the proposed change and all other
requirements of Ordinance No 543, the Zoning Ordinance, have been fulfilled
The President stated that in accordance with the provisions set forth in Section
4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan 1921, as amended, the Zoning Act (M.S.A.
Section 5.2934, M.0 L.A. 125 584), as well as Article XXIII of Ordinance 543, the
Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of the City of Livonia is holding a
public hearing relative to a request for a change of the Zoning Ordinance
Petition 97-5-6-2, submitted by the City Planning Commission, pursuant
to CR 162-97, to determine whether or not to amend Article XVIII of
Zoning Ordinance No 543, as amended, so as to implement size restrictions
by requiring a letter suffix designation to control density in said zoning district.
Petition 97-5-6-3, submitted by the City Planning Commission, pursuant to
CR 195-97, to determine whether or not to amend Section 2 10 of Article II,
Section 4 03 of Article IV and Section 10 02 of Article X of Zoning Ordinance
No 543, as amended, for the purpose of establishing guidelines for bed and
breakfast establishments
Petition 97-5-6-4, submitted by the Planning Commission, pursuant to
CR 254-97, to determine whether or not to amend Section 18 47(b) of
Article XVIII of Zoning Ordinance No 543, as amended, to require the filing
of an approved color rendering for signs where said signs require City Council
and City Planning Commission review

Petition 97-7-6-5, submitted by the Planning Commission, pursuant to
CR 235-97, to determine whether or not to amend Section 23 05 of
Article XXIII of Zoning Ordinance No 543, as amended, so as to shorten
length of time between receipt of a petition to a recommendation being

Questions and comments from interested persons were given due consideration
by the Council, a transcript of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk.
The Public Hearing was declared closed at 7 35 p m , October 13, 1997
