HomeMy WebLinkAboutBOARD OF CANVASSERS 1968-04-05 MINUTES OF MEETING OF BOARD OF CANVASSERS OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA Pursuant to Act N 116 of the Public Acts of 1954, State of Michigan, as amended, the members of the Board of Canvassers of the City of Livonia met on Friday, April 5 , 1968 at approximately 7 25 P M at the City Hall 33001 Five Mile Road Livonia, Michigan The meeting was called to order at the above time and place by the City Clerk, Addison W Bacon, acting as Secretary to the Board Roll was called with the following result Present -- Leonard J Hippler, Allen J Kovinsky, David Merrion, Chairman, and Sidney Diamond Absent -- None. The City Clerk made available to the Board the Certified Statement of Returns of the forty-four (44) election precincts of the City as prepared and certified by the respective election boards of each precinct and filed in the City Clerk' s office. These returns were carefully examined by the Board and were approved. By Mr. Diamond, supported by Mr Hippler, and unanimously carried, it was RESOLVED, that the following statement of votes cast in the Regular City Election held on Monday, April 1, 1968: THE WHOLE NUMBER OF VOTES CAST WITHIN THE CITY OF LIVONIA WAS TWENTY ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTEEN 21,816 THE WHOLE NUMBER OF VOTES CAST FOR THE OFFICE OF MAYOR OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA WAS TWENTY ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED EIGHTY SEVEN 21,587 CAST FOR THE FOLLOWING PERSONS HARVEY W MOELKE RECEIVED FIFTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY 15,420 PETER A. It was explained that said certificate was primarily intended for persons who had been elected as officials of the city By Mr Diamond, supported by Mr. Hippler, and unanimously adopted, the meeting of the Board of Canvassers was duly adjourned at approximately 7 50 P.M. , April 5, 1968.
