HomeMy WebLinkAboutPUBLIC HEARING 1970-02-09 PETITION 1969-10-06-22 11158 MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING ON VARIOUS ZONING PETITIONS On February 9, 1970, the above hearing was held at the City Hall, 33001 Five Mile Road, Livonia, Michigan, and was called to order by the President of the Council at 7:07 P. M. Present: Edward H. McNamara, Peter A. Ventura, Jerry Raymond, Robert E. McCann, Robert F. Nash, and Edward G. Milligan. Absent: Rudolf R. Kleinert. Pursuant to Section 23.06 of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance, the City Clerk has duly published and mailed notices fifteen (15) days prior to the hear- ing date to those persons in the area affected by the proposed changes and all other requirements of Ordinance No. 543, the Zoning Ordinance, have been fulfilled. The President stated that in accordance with the provisions set forth in Section 4 of Act 207 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1921, as amended, the City Zoning Act, (M.S.A. Section 5.2934), as well as Article XXIII of Ordinance 543, the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Livonia, the Council of the City of Livonia is holding a public hearing relative to requests for various changes of zoning within the City. There were approximately 100 people in the audience. Petition 69-10-6-22 submitted by City Planning Commission on its own motion to determine whether to amend Section 2.10, definitions of miscellaneous terms, of Ordinance No. 543, by adding Paragraph (19) to define the term "recreational equipment." Petition 69-8-6-18 submitted by City Planning Commission, pursuant to Council Resolution #399-69, to determine whether to amend Section 4.02 of Ordinance No. 543, pertaining to the storage and parking of trailers in R-1 through R-5 Districts. Petition 69-9-1-30 submitted by Charest & Clancy, attorneys for Curran Construction Company, for a change of zoning of property located on the North side of Joy Road between Oxbow and Hartel Streets in the S. W. 1/4 of Section 36 from C-1 and RUF to C-2. Petition 69-10-1-35 submitted by the American Oil Company for a change of zoning of property located on the Northeast corner of Six Mile Road and Farmington Road in the S. W. 1/4 of Section 10 from C-1 to C-2. Petition 69-10-1-34 submitted by American Oil Company for a change of zoning of property located on the Northwest corner of Five Mile Road and Inkster Road in the S. E. 1/4 of Section 13 from C-1 to C-2. Petition 69-10-1-36 submitted by City Planning Commission pursuant to Livonia Housing Commission resolution #67-69, for a change of zoning of property located on the Am6 East side of Purlingbrook between Seven Mile Road and St. Martins in the S. E. 1/4 of Section 2 from R-1 to R-9. 11159 Petition 69-10-6-20 submitted by the City Planning Commission on its own motion to determine whether or not to amend Section 4.03, 5.03, 9.03, and 10.03 of Ordinance No. 543, by adding a new paragraph to the waiver use sections in the R-1 through R-5 and RUF; P.S. and C-1 Districts to provide special regulations for fraternal or religious organizations. Questions and comments from interested persons were given due consideration by the Council, a transcript of which is on file in the Office of the City Clerk.
