Meeting called to order at 6:07 p.m. at the Alexander Blue House
Review of Meeting Minutes
09/01 August meeting minutes approved with adding Jessica Katers to those attending.
Motion made by Kathy Johnson-Bartshe and seconded by Jessica Katers to approve
August meeting minutes, passed unanimously.
Current Issues:
Kelly Victor-Burke resigned from Historic Preservation Commission, we are sorry to see
her go, she had too any business commitments.
Trinity House – Chris Waterman met with Betsy to discuss signage for Trinity House.
Signage - The Historic Preservation Commission needs to think about how to approach
signage for historic properties.
Betsy will send a friendly email to the Farmington Rd. Grange Hall property regarding
their signage.
Kator house is painted and looks great.
New Meeting date - Shelved this subject until the new city council meeting scheduled is
published for 2023.
Certificate of Approval – Betsy working on it
CLG Survey open Oct. 3 until Feb. 1
Greenmead – Corn Roast September 18 hours 12 – 4 p.m. at Bicentennial Park
Clarenceville Cemetery gates are up except working on one gate that did not fit.
North Barn – Main door is back, second door out to be fixed, white barn is peeling back
to red
Kingsley, Shaw House, Church – gutters ordered
Farm Hand House – siding fixed
Bungalow – floor needs to be patched after the door was fixed
Flea Market this weekend
Blue House roof – waiting on material, possibly October
DAR is requesting to mark Benjamin Grace Obelisk at Clarenceville Cemetery with a
rededication ceremony
Guns and Gowns is last weekend in September
New/Old Business
Historic Preservation Meetings – need at least 6 per year. Next meeting in October is
cancelled, next meeting is November 2
09/02 Books for Homeowners of Historic Buildings – Motion was made by Betsy
Calhoun and seconded by Kristen Braun Waterbury to spend up to $1000 for books for
Historic Property Owners, passed unanimously.
09/03 Motion by Kristen Braun Waterbury and seconded by Jessica Katers to spend up
to $2000 for preservation activities, brochure of Historic Properties and promotional
materials at Greenmead, passed unanimously.
