DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF LIVONIA
The 232nd Regular Meeting of the Plymouth Road Development Authority of the
City of Livonia, Michigan, was called to order at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, January 19,
2012, in the 4th floor conference room of City Hall.

1. Roll was called. A quorum was present.
410 2. Audience Communication. Dr. Auth inquired about the extensive
underground construction on the south side of Plymouth Road between
Stark and Levan and if the disturbed areas to the sidewalk and right-of-way
will be repaired. Mr. Taormina believes that Consumers Powers is installing
new pipes. Greg Meyer will confirm that and report back to Mr. Taormina.
Dr. Auth also inquired about the Oldsmobile building. Mark said it will be
demolished because numerous building issues make refurbishment
financially impractical.
3. Chairperson Comments: Wayne Glass requested additional Board
members and suggested Ruth Ann Brown as a possible candidate.
4. Election of Officers. Lowell Peterson, on behalf of the Nomination
Committee, contacted all members and advised that there was unanimous
agreement for Betsy McCue to be Chairman. There were no interested
parties for Vice Chair. Mr. Hiltz agreed to act as Vice Chairman for one
year.
On a motion made by Grace, seconded by Peterson, and unanimously
adopted, it was
#2012-01 RESOLVED, that the Plymouth Road Development Authority
does hereby elect John Hiltz as Vice Chairman of the Authority
for the term January 1 through December 31, 2012.

(re Mr. Glass, Chairman, declared the motion is carried and the foregoing
resolution adopted.
On a motion made by Peterson, seconded by Kirksey, and unanimously
adopted, it was
#2012-02 RESOLVED, that the Plymouth Road Development Authority
does hereby elect Betsy McCue as the Chairman of the
Authority for the term January 1 through December 31, 2012.
Mr. Glass, Chairman, declared the motion is carried and the foregoing
resolution adopted.
5. Adoption of the Minutes.
On a motion made by Hiltz, seconded by Grace, and unanimously adopted,
it was
#2012-03 RESOLVED, that the Plymouth Road Development Authority
does hereby approve the Minutes of the 231st Regular Meeting
held on November 17, 2011.
Mr. Glass, Chairman, declared the motion is carried and the foregoing
Cire resolution adopted.
6. Holiday Dinner. After discussion it was agreed that the Annual Holiday
Dinner will take place in February. Betsy McCue will send an email with
possible dates and locations.
7. Property Issues.
Betsy McCue advised that several street lights are out and that she will
advise Mark Taormina of the exact location. Mr. Taormina advised that
Kevin Maillard, Director of the DPW, is aware of the issue and they will be
repaired by the City's contractor. Dr. Auth also advised that about half a
mile of lights are on during the day.
Mayor Kirksey advised that McDonald Chrysler is now a Mitsubishi
dealership, located at 20777 Plymouth Road. Whether it will revert back to
a Chrysler dealership depends on legal issues that need to be resolved
through the court system.
Betsy McCue inquired about the signage of Right Way Automotive Credit,
located at 20500 Plymouth Road. Mark Taormina advised that when the
large pylon sign was removed, it was replaced with two monument signs.
Chase Bank, located at 32203 Plymouth Road, at the corner of Hubbard,
has requested three new signs. The current proposal requires several
variances, and at the Zoning Board of Appeals meeting of November 29,
January 19, 2012

(re 2011, this matter was tabled to a date uncertain. Prior to taking action, the
ZBA requested the PRDA's input on the proposed sign package. The
request involves the installation of two wall-mounted signs and one ground-
mounted sign. A small tree located near the northwest corner of the
building would be removed to improve visibility to the signs. When polled, a
majority of the PRDA board members stated that they had no objections.
The bright orange canopy on the Roadhouse, 34101 Plymouth, located
behind the Senate Coney Island near Concentra, has plastic hanging down
acting as a wind shield and it looks bad.
The soffit is sagging on the Carpet Store near LA Fitness. Mr. Taormina
said he will check on it.
8. Polling of Members.
Lowell Peterson advised that there are two tenants in the remodeled
building located on the south side of Plymouth near Harrison - ReMax and
Cash for Gold. Taormina advised that the owners occupy about 20 percent
of the building and that it also contains legal and medical offices. Mr.
Peterson also inquired about the status of the Cockrum property. Mr.
Taormina advised that the building was demolished and the property will
probably go on the market soon.

John Hiltz thanked Wayne Glass for his leadership over the past two years.
Mayor Kirksey attended the State of the State in Lansing on January 18 as
a guest of John Walsh. The Livonia State of City will take place on March 8.
Adjournment: On a motion duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted,
the 232nd Regular Meeting held by the Plymouth Road Development Authority on
January 19, 2012, was adjourned at 4:05 p.m.
The next meeting of the Plymouth Road Development Authority will be held on
Thursday, February 16, 2012.
